The Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival celebrates its 9th edition this year. HBRFEST quickly became the main festival dedicated to promoting independent Brazilian cinema in the United States. It is the only festival in the world capital of cinema that supports the exchange between the best in independent Brazilian production and Hollywood.
In 2017, the Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival will present three days, of the most brilliant Brazilian films of the year. Award-winning actors, writers and directors will be in attendance.
In addition to the film screenings, the Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival also promotes panels, workshops and debates.

In 2016, the Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival will present in 3 days, the most important Brazilian films of the year. Award-winning actors, writers and directors will be in attendance.

In addition to the film screenings, the Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival also promotes panels, workshops and debates.

This year's festival takes place at the Ricardo Montalban Theatre in Hollywood, California, and it will award productions in the following categories: Best Short Film. There will also be special recognition for Award Star Rise and Humanitarian Award.

The Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival is produced by Talize Sayegh, which also has been cooperated with major festivals like the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (Laliff) and the Rio Festival.
The deadline for applications is October 1st 2017.

The 9th Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival is accepting submissions for Shorts only.
The Hollywood Brazilian Film festival (HBRFEST) is one of the most anticipated Brazilian events on the industry calendar with countless patrons, members, distributors, journalists, industry professionals and fellow filmmakers from all over the world waiting to see what the 2017 program has to offer! This is your chance to exhibit your film. Selected films will be reviewed by expert film makers and film producers of Hollywood for the 2017 season. Join us in celebration.

Selection

The films selection will be made by a Committee appointed by the festival Organization , by film professionals in Los Angeles area.

The result of the selection will be published on the festival website October 10th, 2017.
The selected film will be notified by email on the same date.

Selected item (s) must send to the festival organization in 2 high resolution stills from the movie and 1 Director’s photo .

Final considerations
The responsible for the submitted work accepts the following terms:

The film recorded and selected will be allowed to be displayed as part of the programming of the 9th Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival.

A 3 min. film preview for feature film and 1 min for short film can be included in current material’s promotion and issue of future festival’s editions.

Films must not have been displayed on the internet, open or cable TV, have had commercial exhibition in the United States or in any other festival in Los Angeles. Films can attend the 9th HBRFest in the categories of International Premiere, North America Premiere, California Premiere and LA Premiere.
• shorts co-productions with Brazil, finalized in 2016 and 2017.

Any physical material, sign-up sheet or film copy will not be accepted after the movies selection.

All movies should have copies of display available in 35 mm, DCP or BluRay.

Films in Portuguese must contain English subtitles.

HBRFEST is not only for Brazilian, any Country can submit a film as long it has Co-production with Brazil, or has any Brazilian participation , like director, or producer on it and finalized in 2016 and 2017.
