Bizitegi has been organizing the Homeless Film Festival in Bilbao since 2016, creating awareness-raising sessions on social inclusion through cinema and theatre.

The Bizitegi Team works for the incorporation into society of people at risk or in a situation of social exclusion in Bizkaia through intervention processes, aimed at improving their living conditions, and through these awareness-raising and denunciation actions that allow raising awareness in building a fairer society.

Premio EITB-Besarkada Saria-Sección Oficial

Bizitegi announces the seventh edition of the Bilbao Homeless Film Festival (Bizkaia). The HFF9 will take place on November 13 and 14, 2024, and has a general section (state and international) that will reward the best project, in addition to its sections aimed at students of the University and Schools.

1.- The participating works must deal with the situation of people in situations of poverty or social exclusion. They can compete short films and feature films of fiction or documentary, national or international, made by people of any nationality and age.

2.- The maximum duration of the short films will not exceed 15 minutes, credit titles included. The minimum duration of feature films must be 60 minutes, credit titles included.

3.- The works must meet a minimum of technical quality, and therefore they must have a size of 1920x1080 pixels and have a .mov or .mp4 format, stereo sound, for a correct projection.

4.- The deadline for receiving works will end on July 16th.

5.- A prize of 500 euros is established for the best work, which will receive the EITB-Besarkada Prize-Official Section. The Jury, appointed by the organization of the Festival, will be made up of people related to the world of cinema and culture, as well as people in exclusion. His decision will be final.

6.- The works that contain material from third parties without consent will be disqualified. Each participant is responsible for the rights of their works and, therefore, the organization of the Festival disclaims any responsibility in this regard.

7.- Any work done in a language other than Spanish or Basque must include subtitles in one of these languages.

8.- A representative of the winning work must attend the Closing Gala on November 16. The state winners will be notified sufficiently in advance of the ceremony. The organization of the Festival reserves the right to decide the fate of these awards and trophies in the event that they are not collected or irregularities are observed.

9.- The professionals of production and direction of the projects authorize, by the fact of registering, all the promotional actions of HFF9 that suppose the partial projection of their works presented to the competition, for their diffusion in any means of communication before or after the jury having issued its decision, as well as in the cultural centers and circuits where the HFF9 has action.

The fact of participating implies the complete acceptance of its bases.
