The Horror en Banfield International Horror Film Festival was created with the main objective of promoting and supporting independent cinema within the fantasy and horror genres. It also aims to establish itself as a space for cultural exchange, bringing together filmmakers, artists, and audiences who share an interest in these cinematic expressions.

Horror en Banfield serves as a platform for the exhibition of feature films, short films, and music videos, while also providing a meeting place where directors, actors, producers, students, and horror culture enthusiasts can come together and enjoy a comprehensive cinematic experience.

The festival also features a section called “Bizarra”, dedicated to works that, while not strictly belonging to the horror genre, stand out for their unique aesthetic, narrative, or conceptual qualities.

The selected films will be part of the Official Competition, which will include the following categories:

Rules and Conditions:

Only audiovisual works in the format of short films or feature films—both fiction and documentary—belonging to the horror genre and its various subgenres will be accepted, including slasher, gore, suspense, fantasy, science fiction, adventure, psychological horror, and other variations related to the genre.
The “Bizarre” section is intended for works that, while not strictly belonging to the horror genre, stand out for their unique, experimental, transgressive, absurd, or unclassifiable nature.

Participants are responsible for all costs associated with submitting or presenting their material. The festival will not cover registration fees, shipping costs, or screening fees. Submitted works must have been produced after January 2024.

If the work is not in Spanish, it must include Spanish subtitles in .srt format.

If selected, the film must be submitted digitally via a download link using Google Drive or a similar platform. The link must remain available and have no expiration date for the period established by the organizers. The organizers will announce the deadline for submitting the screening copy in due course. Failure to meet this deadline may result in the film’s disqualification and exclusion from the program.

The application deadline is July 15, 2027. The festival reserves the right to modify or extend this date in the event of unforeseen circumstances or for organizational reasons.

The festival organizers will be responsible for selecting and scheduling the works. The dates and times of each screening will be determined by the organizers and communicated in a timely manner to the representatives of the selected works.
Material must be submitted in FHD 1920 × 1080 pixels or UHD 3840 × 2160 pixels format. Screenings of the selected works will take place in person and in digital format.

Participants, owners, and/or representatives of the selected works authorize the Horror en Banfield festival to exhibit them within the framework of the event and declare that they hold all necessary rights, permits, and authorizations for the presentation and screening of the material.

The Horror en Banfield festival disclaims any liability for any claims, damages, or disputes arising from the lack of applicable rights, permits, or authorizations for the submitted works. Responsibility for ownership and authorization to exhibit the material rests exclusively with the participants, owners, and/or representatives who submit the work.

The festival agrees to use the submitted material exclusively for purposes related to the event, including its evaluation, selection, screening, promotion, and dissemination. Furthermore, the festival may use images, posters, trailers, clips, and other promotional materials from the selected works to publicize and promote the festival through its social media, press releases, print materials, and other official channels.

Selected works will be screened solely within the framework of the festival and in accordance with the dates and times established by the organization.

Participation in this call for entries implies full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Any situation not expressly covered in this document will be resolved by the festival organization.

The winners will be announced during the festival’s closing ceremony and will subsequently be posted on the official social media accounts. In addition, the winners will be notified by email and will receive their certificates in digital format.

El Horror en Banfield – International Horror Film Festival will take place in the city of Banfield, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 1, 2, and 3, 2027. The dates, venue, or program are subject to change due to force majeure or any other circumstance that prevents the festival from taking place as planned. Any changes will be communicated in a timely manner through the festival’s official channels.
