Distribute Your Film to the World from Guadalajara
The city of Guadalajara is not only one of the most cinematic places on the planet — it is now one of the most dynamic production hubs in the Americas.
The International Guadalajara Film Awards (IGFA) is not just a festival: it's a direct gateway to international distribution.
In collaboration with Dark Eyes Pictures S.A. de C.V., selected films gain access to real distribution deals through global streaming platforms, festivals, and curated industry networks. This is not just an award — it's a concrete opportunity to take your work to market.
Every two months, our jury — composed of film industry professionals — privately reviews all submissions. The best films from each bimonthly cycle are announced as Official Selections and compete for a place at our Annual Awards Ceremony, held each May in Guadalajara, Mexico.
We welcome films and screenplays of any genre and length, from anywhere in the world. If you have a story that deserves to be seen, we can help you bring it to the international audience.
Screening Fee Shorts: 20$
Screening Fee Features: 30$
Every two months, IGFA publishes a new Official Selection list, highlighting the most notable submissions of the season. These projects receive an Official Selection laurel and certificate, as an early recognition of their artistic merit.
Cycle winners — chosen from among these selections — receive a personalized Winner Certificate and a special laurel acknowledging their excellence.
But at IGFA, recognition is just the beginning. Outstanding works may also gain access to international distribution opportunities, through our partnerships with streaming platforms, curated festivals, and professional industry networks.
In addition to the Best Category Awards, the International Guadalajara Film Awards (IGFA) also present Outstanding Achievement Awards, celebrating exceptional work across multiple disciplines and showcasing the creative force of the global independent film community.
PLEASE NOTE: SUBMISSIONS ARE ONLY ACCEPTED THROUGH IGFA. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING.
By submitting your film to the International Guadalajara Film awards (IGFA), you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please note that all selected films become eligible for international distribution opportunities in association with Dark Eyes Pictures S.A. de C.V.
IGFA is open to all films and scripts, regardless of genre, subject, or country of origin. Submission does not guarantee selection, but officially selected films will be considered for real distribution through global platforms and festival partnerships.
All Official Selections, Nominees, and Winners will be permanently listed on our website. We treat all filmmakers equally and with respect.
1. Films submitted to any bi-monthly season of IGFA may be resubmitted in a future season for a second opportunity, as each cycle has a new judging panel.
2. Films not in english or Spanish must include english subtitles. Submissions without subtitles will be rejected automatically.
3. IGFA reserves the right to refuse any entry.
4. Filmmakers may submit multiple films or submit to multiple categories simultaneously.
5. By submitting, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless IGFA from any legal claims related to copyright, trademark, credits, or publicity.
6. If selected, your film will be announced as an Official Selection and listed on our site. This status does not guarantee public screening, but it makes your project eligible for our distribution offer.
7. Submission fees are non-refundable. Films entered into incorrect categories or without proper material may be disqualified at our discretion.
8. All submissions must include a trailer or poster, a synopsis, and a streaming link to the film. Categories may be reassigned by IGFA if deemed necessary.
9. All nominated films will be reviewed privately by the IGFA judging panel.
10. Submission fees are final and non-refundable, even if the filmmaker withdraws their entry.
11. Legal responsibility for all content lies with the submitter. IGFA assumes no liability.
12. These Rules & Terms may be updated at any time without prior notice.
By submitting your work, you confirm your understanding and acceptance of these terms.
We don’t just celebrate films — we help launch them. Thank you for trusting us with your story.
