The 21 International Film Festival celebrates the art of film-making, helps support a community of artists and showcases Hong Kong as an entertainment and travel destination. The festival supports and nurtures emerging independent filmmakers and their stories from around the world not currently found in mainstream Hong Kong cinema.

The festival will screen narratives, documentaries, animation and music videos. No matter the subject, if the work has merit and the filming is well done – we are interested in viewing it. The festival is looking for all genres of narratives from comedy to drama and from thrillers to love stories. Your film will be viewed by our local audiences and will be judged by a jury of film professionals and a community of cinephiles.

Students are welcome.
All submitted material must be the original work of the author(s).
We accept material from anywhere in the world.
All submitted material must be in English. If Video submission is NOT in English, we require subtitles or dubbing.
Please submit one copy only. Do not send originals. Material will not be returned under any circumstances.
No substitutions or updated/re-edited versions of the project will be accepted without officially “re-submitting’ the project.
Entry Fees are non-refundable. No refunds will be issued for any reason.
Contest applicants must accept without reservations the decisions rendered by the competition.

The filmmaker holds the 21 International Film Festival, its management, juries, subsidiaries, agents, sponsors, affiliates, and etc. harmless from any and all claims of liability resulting from entry. The filmmaker certifies to have full rights. Producer will indemnify the organisers of the Festival against all claims, demands, costs, damages, expenses (including legal fees), proceedings and losses resulting from the screening of the film at the Festival or from claims by any third parties.
All films showing in Hong Kong should be classified by Hong Kong government: https://www.ofnaa.gov.hk. Our team member will help this process cooperated with film makers.
