Resistance International Film Festival (RIFF) is a major international cinematic event dedicated to storytelling about human dignity, justice, freedom, and resilience.
With nearly four decades of history, the festival was held biennially for many years and has now become an annual international film festival.
The 19th edition highlights themes such as resilience, courage and dedication, hope, social progress, and collective awareness, while embracing new creative technologies including artificial intelligence and multimedia storytelling. RIFF welcomes feature films, documentaries, short films, animation, screenplays, AI-based works, and research projects, and aims to connect filmmakers worldwide through cinema, dialogue, and cultural exchange.
The Resistance International Film Festival presents official awards and certificates of recognition to outstanding works in different categories. Selected winners receive the official festival trophy, a certificate of achievement, and, in selected categories, cash prizes.
Awards are presented across multiple sections, including feature films, documentaries, short films, animation, screenplays, and emerging media such as AI-based works. In addition to main awards, the festival offers special recognitions for films that demonstrate artistic excellence, strong storytelling, innovation, and meaningful social impact.
All awards are granted by the festival’s official jury and aim to honor filmmakers whose works contribute to promoting human dignity, justice, hope, and resilience through cinema.
