About the festival:

The International Short Film Festival "Movie Mouse" is an ANNUAL short film competition with an official award ceremony for the winners.

The festival organizers reserve the right to hold the award ceremony in any format, including physically at the venue, online, or as a simple announcement of the results on the festival's website and mailing diplomas and awards to participants.


The festival was created to identify talented filmmakers and promote short films.

1-DRAMA - The best feature film-drama (feature short film in the genre of drama/ melodrama/ psychological drama) lasting from 10 to 40 minutes

2-SUPER-SHORT is the best drama Feature Film (a short feature film in the genre of drama/ melodrama/ psychological drama) lasting up to 10 minutes.

3 - Best ACTION Feature Film (Detective/Horror/Action Short Film) - Category 18+

4- COMEDY - Best Feature Film-Comedy (feature short film in the comedy genre)

5-DOC - Best Documentary (documentary short film of any genre)

6-ANIMATION - The best animated film (animated short film of any genre)

7- DEBUT - The Best feature debut and student Film

8- CHILDREN - Best Short Film for children and teenagers (category 0+)

9- TRAILER - The best trailer of an existing short film (up to 2 minutes in length)

* Submitted projects are reviewed and evaluated by a professional jury consisting of at least three Russian and international experts in the field of cinematography.

Stages:

All films sent by cinematographers are reviewed by the jury members, after which some of them separately in each category are included in the official selection (LONGLIST).
Depending on the number of films that have been officially selected, further selection stages are formed in each category – QUARTERFINAL, SEMIFINAL, final (SHORT LIST), nominees (NOMINEE) for the award, winner (WINNER) - the Grand Prix of the festival.

The organizers of the festival reserve the right to carry out the selection both sequentially in all stages, and skip some of them, depending on the number of participants in each category.

Semi-finalists in each category are invited to the award ceremony (if it is physically held) on the festival's website. All authors who have sent a film to participate in the competition program can also apply to the organizers of the festival to attend the official award ceremony.

The winner of the Grand Prix in each category (the winner in the nomination) is announced from among the nominees. Awarding in additional nominations is at the discretion of the organizers. (The organizers can choose the winners in all or in some categories at their discretion or not choose them at all).

Prizes:
1. Authors of films that have passed the official selection/longlist can download the laurels of the official selection on the festival's website.
2. At each stage, authors who have received the opportunity to further participate in the competition (quarterfinals, semifinals, finals, award nominations) can also download laurels of the corresponding stage on the festival website.
3. Semi-finalists, finalists, and nominees are awarded with diplomas and commemorative prizes.
4. The winners of the Grand Prix in each category are awarded with diplomas and statuettes of the festival.
5. Winners in additional nominations are awarded with diplomas and commemorative prizes.
6. The list of finalists, nominees and winners appears on the festival's website after the final results are announced.
7. To receive an award at the official award ceremony (if it is held), semi-finalists, finalists, nominees and winners must be represented by at least one representative of the film crew from among the project participants indicated in the credits. Nominees and winners who are not present at the official award ceremony can optionally receive statuettes and commemorative prizes by mail at their own expense.
8. Grand Prix winners, as well as winners in additional nominations, in case of absence from the official award ceremony, can download diplomas on the festival website or by mail at their own expense.
9. Awarding of winners, nominees and finalists with valuable gifts and gifts from sponsors, cash and other prizes remains at the discretion of the organizers, and may not be announced in advance.
10. In the case of an official ceremony, the organizers independently compile a list of films that will be shown on the day of the official ceremony and reserve the right to change this list and the schedule of screenings at any time, depending on changes in the rules and other circumstances. The organizers are not obliged to notify the authors of the inclusion of their works in the final list of screenings on the day of the festival.

Terms and Conditions:

Please read all the Terms and Conditions carefully before submitting your movie. By submitting your film to the film festival, you agree that you must comply with all the provisions of these Terms and Conditions.
To participate in the film festival, the applicant must submit an application for participation no later than the date of the final deadline and pay the registration fee set by the organizers.

Applications can be submitted via the FestHome or on the official website of the Film Festival.

Short films from all over the world are accepted.

Russian Russian and english subtitles are required for films shot in any language other than Russian and english.

Any genres and types of short meter are accepted.

Films from 2 to 40 minutes in length, including credits, are accepted. , for the SUPER SHORT nomination from 2 to 10 minutes, for the TRAILER nomination - from 0-30 to 2.00 minutes.

Films containing sex scenes, scenes of violence, smoking, obscenities and other materials not intended for children to watch should be marked "18+" at the beginning

The materials submitted to the Competition must not contradict the legislation of the Russian Federation, including the law "On Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances", the law "On Mass Media" and the law "On Advertising".

To participate in the festival, the screening of the film does not have to be a premiere. Films that have been shown at other festivals are eligible to participate in the film festival. Films that are publicly available on the Internet are eligible to participate in the film festival.

Films with a production date no earlier than January 01, 2014 are accepted. The release date of the film is the date indicated in the application and corresponding to the release date indicated in the end credits.

There are no restrictions on the number of applications per director. Each application is accompanied by a new participation fee.

The director's first film can be considered a debut, as well as his second film, if he was a co-director in his previous work.

A film declared in the "Debut Film" category can also be separately declared in the "Best Feature Film" category - drama/romance, horror/detective/action, film for children, comedy. The application must be accompanied by a new participation fee.

The organizers of the festival do not accept copies of films in unfinished form.

All changes and additions to the films submitted to the film festival after submitting an application are accepted only in agreement with the organizers.

The participants submitting the film to the film festival are fully responsible for ensuring all rights and permissions from the copyright holders related to their application and guarantee that they do not violate the rights of third parties, including copyrights, personal rights and trademark rights, and also release the organizers of the film festival from third-party claims in connection with the screening and other use of the film during the Festival. The organizers of the festival are not responsible for claims or complaints from individuals and organizations involved in these works.

The organizers of the festival reserve the right to refuse the applicant to participate without explaining the reasons.

The refusal must be accompanied by an appropriate notification to the applicant's email address.

The organizers of the festival reserve the right to disqualify a film that does not meet the requirements of the festival or move it to another competition category (at the discretion of the organizers).

All registration fees are non-refundable.

The jury's decision is final and cannot be challenged.

By sending a film to participate in the competition program, the author grants the organizers of the festival the right to use on a non-commercial basis any footage and excerpts from the film for display on the Festival's website, in promotional materials, including press releases, festival brochures, etc. and ensures that the festival organizers are authorized to show the film as part of the film festival.

Festival participants, in addition to the mandatory data and materials specified in the application, can send a trailer for the film, which, according to the decision of the organizers, can be shown on the day of the festival. The trailer cannot independently participate in the competition program, except for the TRAILER nomination.

Trailers submitted for participation in the TRAILER nomination cannot be an independent work, but must be teasers/promo clips of a real-life short film by the same director who is declared the director of the trailer.

The organizers of the film festival reserve the right to update or change the terms and conditions and the policy without prior notice.

Technical requirements:

Participants should send the organizers of the festival a link to a copy of the film uploaded to the file sharing site in .mp4, .mpeg format. or .mov and the download password, if available. Also, the contest entries can be posted on YouTube or Vimeo services in the "Open access" or "Link access" mode.
Participants must send a poster of the film in the format.jpg or .png. Films without a poster are not allowed to participate.

Links to the materials must be active and available until the end of the summing up of the Film Festival.

The video resolution is preferably 1920*1080 (Full HD, 1080p), but not less than 720*576.

Each film must have titles that contain a list of all project participants, as well as the release date of the film.
subtitles can be either sewn into a copy of the film, or sent separately as a link to the same file sharing service or in the form of .the srt of the file.

Participants can optionally send the organizers of the festival a link to the trailer (teaser) of the film uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo services in the "Open Access" or "Link access" mode.
