About the Festival

The competition accepts: positive fiction films (up to 20 minutes), music videos, musicals, and dance films, as well as original musical compositions and songs.

Both professional and emerging filmmakers are welcome to participate.

What are “positive” films?
Positive films may also be described as “heartfelt” or “uplifting.” These are works that tell stories highlighting genuine human values, promoting a life-affirming philosophy and positive thinking. Such films always bring a smile, evoke warm emotions, and leave the audience with a pleasant aftertaste.

Authors of the best original works will have the opportunity to participate in the festival opening concert. All participants in the “Music Collection” category receive laureate diplomas for their contribution to art and culture.

Main prize (for Music Collection nominees): production of a music video (up to 8 minutes). One overall winner is selected by the jury from all nominees.

3. PARTICIPATION RULES:

3.1. Submit an application for each film (clip, musical, music work) via Festhome.

3.1.1. Works uploaded to YouTube or VK are not accepted. Upload them to cloud storage and provide a link when completing the application.

3.1.2. It is mandatory to attach a poster (vertical or square format) including the title of the work and the names of the creators and performers.

3.2. Works of any year of production are eligible.

3.3. The competition accepts fiction and musical film/video works with a maximum duration of 22 minutes including credits.

3.4. There is no limit to the number of works submitted by one author.

3.5. The submission deadline is July 30, 2026 (for songs: July 1).

3.6. All works selected for the official program will be screened during the festival and at pre-festival screenings (jury viewings, press screenings, cinema screenings, regional TV broadcasts).

3.7. The best films and clips (winners and Grand Prix recipients) are included in the “Golden Collection of Kinopositive” and screened throughout the year (and beyond) at film club events, “Echo of Kinopositive” screenings, and partner venues such as social cinemas in the Perm region, small-format screenings (universities, schools, libraries), thematic forums/festivals, and regional TV channels. This program aims to promote positive cinema and highlight outstanding filmmakers and music creators.

3.8. Winners may choose to refuse or postpone screenings of their films at the venues listed in clause 3.7.

3.9. Copyright fully belongs to the directors (authors, producers) in accordance with international copyright law.


4. FESTIVAL ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

4.1. The following structures are established to carry out festival activities:

The Organizing Committee (Organizing Committee) is responsible for film selection, organizational support, defining selection methods and procedures, and organizing the award ceremony.
The Festival Jury determines the winners based on criteria evaluated on a 10-point scale.

4.2. Evaluation criteria:

5. RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE

5.1. The Organizing Committee defines the festival program and screening schedule.

5.2. The Organizing Committee determines nominations and awards without payment of author fees but with proper credit.

5.3. The Organizing Committee has the right to use submitted works, including after the festival.

5.4. The organizers are not responsible for claims from individuals or organizations featured in the submitted works.

5.5. Works that do not meet the requirements will not be considered.

5.6. The Organizing Committee ensures proper conditions for the jury.

5.7. The Organizing Committee ensures the safety of submitted works during the festival.

5.8. The Organizing Committee provides awards and conducts the ceremony according to jury decisions.

5.9. The Organizing Committee may modify the rules to improve the competition and, in exceptional cases, review jury decisions.

5.10. The Organizing Committee may invite distinguished guests from culture, cinema, and public life.


6. FESTIVAL JURY

6.1. The jury is formed by the Organizing Committee and includes respected representatives from society, government, film industry, science, and culture.

6.2. The jury list is published in the media.

6.3. The jury consists of up to 10 members.

6.4. Each jury member must watch all works and assign scores with comments if required.

6.5. Scoring and winner selection are conducted in a closed jury meeting.

6.6. Decisions are documented and signed by the chairperson and secretary.

6.7. Winners are determined by the highest total score.


7. FESTIVAL PARTICIPANTS

7.1. Both professional and amateur filmmakers may participate.

7.2. Music creators, performers, composers, musicians, and producers may participate.

7.3. Film and music studios, including those for adults and children, may participate.


8. COMPETITION CONDITIONS

8.1. The competition includes pre-selected works of any production year.

8.2. Maximum duration is 22 minutes (preferably up to 12 minutes).

8.3. Fiction and musical films (clips) are accepted.

8.4. For the “Professional” category, a distribution certificate is required. Without it, the work is placed in the “Amateur” category.

8.5. Previously screened films at other festivals are eligible.

8.6. Final selection decisions are made by the Organizing Committee, which may decline applications without explanation.

8.7. Participants will be informed about selection results.

8.8. By submitting, participants agree to public screenings during and after the festival.

8.9. By submitting, participants agree to the publication of promotional materials in media and online, including film excerpts.

8.10. Award winners may promote their awards only using the official wording and festival name “Kinopositive” and may use the official logo.


9. FESTIVAL PROGRAM

9.1. The festival program includes:

- Opening event: a large film concert featuring finalist musicians, music videos, films, and short films.
- Competition program: screenings of films and clips.
- Non-competition program.
- Special retrospective program featuring early works of renowned filmmakers.
- Masterclasses
- Press conferences
- Guest and networking events
- Academic conferences
- Creative meetings
- Film studio presentations
- Panel discussions on the development of cinema in Russia
- awards ceremony for the winners


10. FESTIVAL DATES AND LOCATION

10.1. Location: Perm

10.2. Dates: September 2026


12. PARTICIPATION FEE FOR THE FESTIVAL

The voluntary organizational fee for all participants (in-person and remote) in the video category (films, clips) is:

Early deadline: 3000 RUB (until June 1)
Standard deadline: 4000 RUB (until July 1)
Final deadline: 5000 RUB (until July 30) per work

For the music category (songwriters and composers), the participation fee is a fixed 3000 RUB with a single deadline of July 1, 2026.

The jury considers only those works for which the participation fee has been paid.
Submission opening date: November 1, 2025.

In case of winning, special conditions may apply for organized groups of 5–10 participants from one studio (please contact the organizers). All participants and heads of film studios whose works reach the final will receive participation diplomas and letters of appreciation. The list of finalists will be published on the official VK group and website after August 15, 2026.

This document is the main regulatory document of the All-Russian Festival of Film and Music Art “Kinopositive”.

The “Music Collection NZ” project was created to support original music art. The best musicians are involved in film projects, music videos are produced for them, and musicals are created.

The festival “Kinopositive” is organized by the Talent Support Foundation in Film and Arts “Freymix”.
