The L’Hospitalet Short Film Festival celebrates its 21st edition, firmly established as a landmark cultural event in the city. Over the past two decades, it has supported and promoted the talent of young filmmakers committed to human rights, cooperation, and a culture of peace.

In this edition, the festival also introduces the thematic focus “Territories”, an invitation to engage in dialogue with other realities, explore new physical and symbolic geographies, and decentralize perspectives in order to amplify diverse voices and non-hegemonic viewpoints.

Festival prizes are:

• 1st Prize – Memory and Archive: €1,000 cash + trophy

• 2nd Prize – GLOBAL: €700 cash + trophy

• 3rd Prize – GLOBAL: €400 cash + trophy

GLOBAL – International Human Rights & Cooperation Short Film Category

21st Edition – L’Hospitalet Short Film Festival (FCLH)

1. Call for Entries
The L’Hospitalet Short Film Festival (FCLH) opens the call for entries for its 21st edition (2026) in the GLOBAL category – International Human Rights & Cooperation Short Films.

2. Aim of the Category
The GLOBAL category aims to promote and showcase audiovisual works created by young filmmakers that address, from a critical, artistic, and transformative perspective, issues related to:

The defense and promotion of Human Rights

International cooperation

A culture of peace

The festival is committed to socially engaged cinema and the promotion of emerging talent.

3. Film Requirements

Short films must have been completed after January 1, 2023.

Maximum running time: 20 minutes, including credits.

Fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental films are accepted.

Advertising, institutional works, or films that violate fundamental rights will not be accepted.

4. Participation Requirements

Directors must be 35 years old or younger at the time of completion of the film.

Each participant may submit more than one film, provided all requirements are met.

5. Theme
Films must be related to Human Rights, international cooperation, and the culture of peace.

For its 21st edition, the festival also revolves around the thematic focus “Territories”, understood in a broad sense (geographical, symbolic, political, identity-based, or social), inviting filmmakers to engage with other realities and to decentralize perspectives.

6. Submission & deadline

The submission deadline is July 14, 2026 at 23:59 (Spanish mainland time).

Submissions must be made exclusively through the Festhome platform.

Films submitted outside the platform or after the deadline will not be accepted.

7. language & subtitles
All films must include subtitles in Catalan or Spanish, regardless of their original language, in order to ensure proper evaluation and accessibility during screening.

8. Screening Rights
By submitting their film, participants declare that they hold the necessary rights and authorize the festival to screen selected works within the framework of the festival and related cultural activities, as well as to use excerpts for promotional purposes.

This authorization is non-exclusive and granted solely for cultural and promotional purposes related to the festival.

9. Selection Process
All submitted films will be reviewed by a selection committee.

Selected films will be notified on July 15, 2026.
The jury’s decision will be final.

10. Acceptance of the Rules
Submitting a film to the GLOBAL category implies full acceptance of these regulations.

Any matter not covered herein will be resolved by the festival organization in accordance with principles of fairness and consistency with the festival’s objectives.
