The first edition of the La Spezia Film Festival took place in 2016, with the aim of creating and growing a festival that combines research with attention to the tastes of the public, with the awareness that cultural participation also produces social and economic repercussions, which constitute an added value for the territories.

Organized by Cut-up Publishing and Associazione Cinema e Cultura, with the patronage of the Municipality of La Spezia, the artistic direction is entrusted to the director Paola Settimini and the screenwriter Paolo Logli. The president of the jury is Professor Roberto Danese of the University of Urbino.

Premios en Metálico: 1,000€

The following categories of Awards with plaques and works of art are planned: Best Film, Best Short Film, Best Documentary, Best Animated Short Film, Best Animated Feature Film, Best Photography (short and feature), Best Actor/Actress (short and feature), Best Screenplay (short and feature). The Festival Jury reserves the right to also award Special Mentions.

The competition is open and aimed at short and feature films by national and international authors and productions. Short and feature films can participate without genre restrictions, including documentaries and animated films.

Works in a foreign language must be subtitled in Italian.

In case of selection, the competitor must provide a copy of the work in high resolution.

The management reserves the right to open a selection "out of competition". These works will not compete for the prizes but will be screened in the theater during the festival and may have an award.

Each producer, author or owner of works proposed for the selection is responsible for the content of the same and for any rights to third parties and minors that appear in the short film, in particular rights regarding the image and privacy of the subjects involved in the proposed artistic works and attached Music.

The programming and screening times of the finalist works will be communicated one month before the event. It is preferable that the finalists are present in the theater during the award ceremony because the prizes will not be sent.
