The "Le Matié" University Audiovisual Festival is conceived as an academic space to highlight and promote the audiovisual works carried out by students of Social Communication - Journalism of the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and other academic institutions at a national and international level, conducive to sharing experiences of classroom, encourage originality and enhance the technical and conceptual quality of audiovisual products, thus encouraging the exploration of new ways of telling stories from real life or the product of the students' imagination, as well as news, reports and other narratives through of the audiovisual.

As a non-competitive showcase, the festival seeks to celebrate creativity and the exchange of ideas, therefore no prizes will be awarded.

However, we will recognize the participants' talent in two ways:

Audience Vote: During the screening sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite short film.

Honorable Mentions: In each exhibition section, we will grant a special recognition to the most outstanding work (both in the UPB and External categories) for its quality, originality, and technical excellence.

In this edition, Le Matiné Audiovisual Festival seeks to question and expand the tangible and invisible limits of our experience, strengthening the bond between the reflection on cultural memory and the confines of the human mind, without resorting to restrictive genre divisions. Therefore, the showcase is organized around the perceptual boundaries that each work challenges, bringing fiction pieces and documentary records into dialogue. This allows us to debate how self-imposed barriers alter our reality, and to recognize how young filmmakers can transcend those limits to achieve ever-greater creative and professional goals.

Festival Structure
The festival spans three days and is divided into two main components:

Academic Component: Talks, workshops, and masterclasses with leading experts. Its goal is to teach new techniques and creative approaches to enhance the artistic and professional training of attendees.

Exhibition Component: A screening window for emerging creators to present their works to the public, receive feedback, and gain visibility.

Exhibition Sections
Fiction Short Film: Original stories that stand out for their narrative capacity and technical prowess to create captivating visual experiences.

Documentary Short Film: Works with a truthful and reflective approach that address relevant aspects of real life and society.

Audiovisual Journalistic Product: Informative pieces (news, reports, or chronicles) developed with journalistic depth and rigor.

Video Creation: Open formats for audiovisual expression. It includes video art, music videos, parodies, movie trailers, and video memes that reflect creativity and a sense of humor.
