Lloret Negre is the first noir genre festival of the Costa Brava. It's objetive is to promote the noir genre and as well as Lloret de Mar and it's heritage.

RULES ABOUT THE 2ND LLORET NEGRE INTERNA- TIONAL FESTIVAL

1) Organization, Date and Venue

The Costa Brava Black Film Festival, the Lloret Negre Film Fest, with its initials LLNFF, is part of the Lloret Negre Association, which is responsible for the organization of the Lloret Negre Literature Festival. The film festival will take place in Lloret de Mar from 23 to 26 November 2023.

2) Aims & Objectives

The International Black Film Festival of Lloret de Mar (Lloret Negre Film Fest), as part of the Lloret Negre culture association, aims to promote culture. And at the same time, offer a selection of films from the international scene and all linked to the black film genre.

All the films that are part of the festival’s selection will be screened in their original subtitles in Spanish (VOSE) in the case of the international selections. The films are chosen by a committee created by the festival organization.

3) Sections

The Lloret Negre Film Fest presents the following sections:

- Official Section
- Instituts de Lloret
- New Talents

3.1) Official Section

Includes fiction feature films and documentary films in the black genre. The presented films must not have been screened in Spain, including theatrical circuits, subscription to digital platforms (paid and/or free) and television broadcasting.

3.2) Highschools from Lloret

Original works submitted by students from Lloret de Mar’s secondary schools. This section will serve the young people of Lloret to give them exposure and the possibility to enter the world of film.

3.3) New Talents

Works presented by the production companies of Spanish Film Schools. This section will be exclusive for the benefit of the film schools in Spain and their students. This section aims to give visibility and support to the students of film degrees and film studies.

4) Awards and Jury

The awards by the Lloret Negre Film Fest are:

The Lloret de Mar Noir Film Festival gives every year the “Recognition Award for the best contribution to Spanish cinema” without a nomination.

The award is a trophy. Its value is in the category of the Festival and its jury.

5) Registration

All registrations for the Lloret Negre Film Fest will be made through the festhome.com website. The Festival will charge a registration fee (not including the registration fees that Festhome may apply) to visit the sitte.

- Feature films: 10€.
- Short films: 5€.
- Instituts de Lloret: Free of charge
- New talents (Spanish film schools): 3€.

The registration period for the festival will be from 17th March 2023 to 31th May of the same year.

6) Selections

All production companies or the producers/directors themselves once their projects have been selected must provide promotional material of the selected project as well as the download of the screening file in .mov format (Full HD) in original version with Spanish subtitles (VOSE).

7) Commitment to Mention

The films selected in any section must include the festival logo and also the mention of the section and edition for which they have been selected in their advertisements and in the credits of each copy screened in Spain after the competition, in both cases. Copies for theatrical performances and copies in national commercial format (DVD, BLURAY). Award-winning films must include this mention, as well as a mention of the prize received, in copies also shown outside Spanish territory. This condition applies to all prizes.

8) Exhibition of films and use of images

By registering your film for the Lloret Negre Film Festival, you give your consent that the film may be shown at the film festival and that it may not be withdrawn or released in commercial cinemas in Spain. By registering a film, you consent the use of the image of your film for promotional purposes.


9) Acceptance of the Regulations

Participation implies full acceptance of these Rules and Regulations. The interpretation of these will be the responsibility of the Lloret Negre organisation. In case of controversy, it will be subject to the Spanish legislation and jurisdiction.
