The Los Angeles Philippine International Film Festival to be from October 7, 8, and 9th, 2016 at the Cinemark Theater in Carson, California.

The Mission of the Los Angeles Philippine International Film Festival (LAPIFF) is to work for the advancement, development and to showcase Filipino Filmmakers/Artists around the world through film, providing the global community of entertainment professionals and film goers with consistent annual screening events and workshops. LAPIFF provides charitable scholarships and a forum where Filipino Filmmakers/Artists can be recognized for their gifts, have open discussions about their movies and connect with industry professionals for understanding on production, distribution, representation and acquirement.

We project around 5000 to 7000 participants in the LAPIFF and the event will be covered by international television channels, local newspapers and the local cable stations subscribed to by the Filipino American community based in Los Angeles as well as across the United States.

ELIGIBILITY:

The Los Angeles Philippine International Film Festival accepts films and media works that are made by OR about FILIPINOS of any nationality (i.e. those who are of FILIPINO ancestry whose citizenship is that of another country). If film is spoken in a Filipino Dialect, Tagalog, or Other Foreign Language, subtitles in English must be shown on the screen. All films from diverse ethnicities, nationalities, lengths and genres will be considered.

Feature Film duration: 80 to 150 minutes maximum
Short Film duration: 30 minutes maximum

Awards & Prizes

Best Picture Feature, Best Short Film, Best Documentary, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Audience Award.

DEADLINES:

Your signed entry form, screener and press kit must be RECEIVED by one of the following dates:

Early Deadline – Wednesday, June 1st, 2016
Final Deadline – Sunday, July 31st, 2016

EXHIBITION FORMATS:

Eligible formats for exhibition at the Los Angeles Philippine International Film Festival are D-Cinema; Blu-ray, a Digital Cinema Package (or DCP) will be required.

The Film Festival can provide a list of recommended vendors for producers to create an appropriate DCP.

Filmmakers of invited short videos and digital submissions MUST submit an MOV file, conforming to the following Codec or equivalent: Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) 1920X1080 24p 48khz

SUBMIT ONLINE:
The Los Angeles Philippine International Film Festival encourages an exclusively paperless submission policy. Starting this season, the Film Festival will not accept physical DVD screeners and will strongly encourage password-protected Vimeo links (720p optimal).

SUBMISSION MATERIALS:
Acceptable format for preview is Secure Online Screener, or a password-protected Vimeo Link (720p optimal). Though strongly discouraged, a preview screener on DVD (NTSC, Region 0 or 1 only) is acceptable only in rare cases. Please include a press kit with your entry, including (electronic version):

• Still images (hard photos and/or high-resolution electronic images of at least 300dpi). Please provide captions and photo credits for all images.
• Synopsis
• Director’s, Producer's, and Writer's biography
• Director’s statement
• Cast and crew listing
