About Malhaar
After the aftermath of the Pandemic of 2020 where the human race has experienced life like never before, Malhaar is back with its second edition to form a collective consciousness. The themes are such which challenge the thinking hats of the creator's community.
Malhaar is soon going to be open for submissions from amateur/expert/enthusiast filmmakers from across the globe.
MALHAAR GOES LOCAL THIS YEAR
This time in Malhaar we are inviting creator's to showcase their talent in the form of short films in global vernacular languages. The themes and dates would be announced shortly, stay tuned and let other film making minds know about Malhaar till then!
GOING LOCAL MEANS?
Films are accepted by the filmmakers in their regional language with English subtitles. Either the living or the native location of the film-maker and its language could be chosen. In case the film-maker is from a location that only speaks English, they could submit the same with subtitles.
Apart from the language per say, what we mean by 'going local' is to capture the local essence of the topic you choose to work on. The local environment, politics, characters, plot and treatment. Don't bother if people outside that territory will understand it or not, if the story is put together effectively, it will be loved !
