MAshRome Film Fest’s aim is to promote and divulge Mash Up and Remix culture as well as to direct the audience’s attention to a selection of audiovisual works from all over the world, created thanks to the exploitation of new and experimental techniques -Mash Up/Remix- able to represent contemporary artistic expressions.

MASHROME FILM FEST 2015: CELEBRATING ARTS IN THE REMIX ERA
IV Edition | ROME – 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th JUNE 2015
MashRome Film Fest (MRFF), the international showcase focusing on mash up, remix and experimental cinema has come to its fourth edition that will be in Rome on next June 2015.
The Festival presents innovative and experimental works with an original perspective from all over the world and welcome works celebrating collaborative art-making and contributing to the ongoing conversation about remixing and mashups: all kinds of hybrid and polluted genres such as documentary, animation, reportage, homage are admitted.
The 4th edition has five sections: ANIMATION, DOCUMENTARY, EXPERIMENTAL, FEATURE, MASH UP/REMIX.
The fee for submissions are:
Regulare Price: 15 Euros for video not more than 15”
Regulare Price: 20 Euros for video over 15”
Early Price submitted by the 31st of Dicember 2014 10 Euros for video not more than 15”
Early Price submitted by the 31st of Dicember 2014 15 Euros for video over 15”
The deadline for submissions is March 15th, 2015.

MashRome Film Fest (MRFF) launches its call for entry for the forth edition that will be held in Rome on June, 2015. Remix and experimental cinema will be welcomed: a selection of audiovisual works from all over the world, created thanks to the exploitation of new and experimental techniques -Mash Up/Remix- able to represent contemporary artistic expressions.
Films should be innovative and original in using different arts manipulation and new technologies.
SECTIONS
The 4th edition of the MashRome Film Fest open to five sections. Choose your category !
1 ANIMATION
Animated films shoot through new technologies with the aim of developing a high technical, conceptual and aesthetic standard level.
2 DOCUMENTARY
Films (cultural, social, political, scientific topics) with the purpose of documenting social aspects or scientific/naturalistic issues.
3 EXPERIMENTAL
Films realized with the support of new ideas and/or technologies and without a narrative logic. Video art and abstract works could be considered into this category.
4 FEATURE
Films telling a story in an original way. These works are realized through the combination of different genres: comedy, action, drama, musical, horror etc. and/or manipulation of different arts.
5 MASH UP / REMIX
Films realized with elements (video, music, art) taken from different sources remixed with the aim of creating a derivative and original work.
SUBMISSIONS
All films must be submitted no later than March, 15th 2015 through the application form. The fees for submissions are 15 Euros for video less than 15”, 20 Euros for video over 15 ”, the Early Price for submission by the 31st of Dicember 2014 is 10 Euros for video less than 15′ and 15 Euros for video over 15”
ELEGIBILITY
Films must have been completed since 30th, June 2013 to be eligible.
There is not a specific running time for the Mash films.
Films containing dialogues must be in their original language with English language subtitles.

SELECTED FILMS
All films will be selected by the MashRome Film Fest committee. Selected authors must send the following essential requirements by email to: mashup@mashrome.org by April, 30th 2015:
- Synopsis in English & Italian (no more than 100 words)
- Brief director biography in English and Italian (no more than 100 words)
- Photo of director
- Digital stills from film in 300 dpi (max three whose publication is authorized and free of charge)
Selected films with dialogues must be in their original language with English and Italian subtitles.
For the official selection, all non‐English language films must have an English‐subtitled screening copy available, and all English language films must have Italian subtitles. JURY
The winning films from the nine sections will be decided upon by a jury of audiovisual and art experts. The evaluation will take into account the following criteria:
originality
image quality
subject quality
soundtrack quality
quality of different forms of art contamination
employment of instruments and new technologies
LEGAL ASPECTS
After submitting his/her film, the author authorizes MAshRome to post the video – wholly or in an abstract form – on the website www.mashrome.org and on the Social Network pages related to the Festival.
The authors must know the copyright laws and relieve the MashRome Film Fest from any liabilities of violation of these terms by the author. The author participating in the competition is the sole responsible for respecting the copyright laws.
MashRome Association can wholly or partly record/shoot/spread the event through any means- press, photography, radio, TV, audiovisual, internet etc.- including promotional events. MAshRome is not under obligation for any payment.
Submitting the Festival application form means unconditional agreement to all rules and regulations.
