PARTICIPATION RULES 2014
6th edition: July 15th to 19th, 2014

PARTICIPATION
Participation is open to all short films: fiction, documentary and animation, no longer than 20minutes, produced in the last two years (2012-2014).

REGISTRATION PERIOD
From february 25th until march 31st 2014.
Registration is free.

FILMS
· Files should be sent to info@medit.es to be downloaded through Webtransfer or Dropbox. Distributors and producers may also provide access to their FTP in order to download original films with the highest quality.

· The link of the piece can also be sent by email, and, if it’s chosen, send the files.

· If the short is in another language other than Spanish or Catalan, must be subtitled in Spanish.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Requirements concerning video files to be projected:
*File Extension: the file format must be *.mov or *.mp4.
*Video codec: it must be Apple ProRes 422 or H264/MPEG-4 AVC.
*Audio codec: it must be AAC or PCM.

The organizers reserve the right to recode the original image and adapt it to ensure projection and the highest possible quality.


SCREENINGS
We will project the films twice:
*Fist in a projection room in Baleària Ferries (Barcelona-Menorca route), from July 1st to July 15th 2014, right before the festival (only one screen).
*The other screening will take place during the festival, which will be held July 16th -18th 2014.


JURY
The Organising Committee shall appoint the members of the International Official Jury (people related to the cinema or audiovisual sector and the cultural scene in Menorca).
