Meraki International Film Fest aims to promote culture Film world through audiovisual works, discovering those innovative proposals in this field.
Cash Prizes: 1,100€
● Award Best Short Fiction: 500€ and a trophy.
● Best Animated Short Film Award: 500€ and a trophy.
● Audience Award: € 100 and a trophy. They will compete for the same all the semifinalists works the festival. The festival reserves the right to cancel the award if there were any
concerning the projections made during the week of technical problem festival celebration.
● Special Mention Award Meraki: Prize distribution, and a trophy. They will compete for the same all finalists.

Regulations
I. PURPOSE
1. Meraki International Film Fest aims to promote world film culture through audiovisual works, discovering innovative proposals in this field.
II. ORGANIZATION
1. It is organized by the Meraki Owl Cultural Association of Palma del Río (Córdoba-Spain).
2. The 3rd Edition of the MIFF (Meraki International Film Fest) will be held from 18 to 28 October 2018 and will feature the Official International Short Film Section.
III. GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. The festival is open to fiction and animation short films. Being the free subject, those of a tourist or advertising character and the television series are excluded.
2. Each author may submit the number of works he wishes.
3. Works may be submitted after January 1, 2016 and have not been distributed publicly and / or massively except for other festivals, contests or events of a public nature.
4. The works will be presented in their original language. Those whose original version is not Spanish must be subtitled in Spanish.
5. The duration of the short fiction or animation will be a maximum of 30 minutes and a minimum of 3 minutes.
6. A plural and qualified committee will be in charge of selecting the works that will be part of the contest. The result of this selection will be informed to the contact person indicated in the registration form.
IV. REGISTRATION
1. All short films entered must conform to the following norms:
The registration date will be from Monday February 5 until Sunday, April 15, 2018.
In case of being awarded, it is compulsory to attend the closing gala to receive the financial
endowment.
Registration will be made online through the platform: "Festhome" at festhome.com, completing all its mandatory sections. The participant will assume the expenses derived from this platform. In this platform, an account will be created and the video file will be uploaded in the specified format (.mp4 with H.264 codec and bitrate of between 1250 kbps and 1750 kbps) with subtitles embedded in Spanish, in the case of works whose version Original is not Spanish.
V. SELECTED WORKS, SHIPPING AND COPIES OF PROJECTION
1. All selected works must send the projection copy subtitled in Spanish (unless the original language is this one), and the list of dialogues in Spanish. We will contact the winners to give them the necessary instructions.
2. Those selected should send (if they did not previously upload the material to any of the corresponding platforms) a file with a compound of:
Three photograms or photographs representative of the short film and photograph of the director. The preferred format will be a digital file, 300ppp, JPEG or TIFF with an approximate size of 32 × 45 cm.
Biofilmography of the director in a maximum of 600 characters.
List of dialogues.
Teaser for a maximum of one minute of its short film for promotion purposes with a minimum resolution of 1080p and encoded in H.264 with a data rate of between 10,000 - 15,000 kbits / s.
3. Participants authorize the Festival organization to use these extracts from the short films for dissemination in any medium of communication in order to promote the Festival. The Festival will also be able to use photographs of short films and directors, in the press and other media, as well as for the preparation of the Festival's catalog. The delivery of the extract implies acceptance of all of these conditions.
4. The selected short films, in their format of exhibition, must be in the possession of the Festival before October 1, 2018. The files will be sent through the FTP service that the festival will make available to the authors. The date of shipment must be communicated by email: registration@merakifest.com Failure to comply with this requirement implies the exclusion of the work.
5. The Festival will not pay any amount to the authors or responsible of the works selected by the exhibition of the same ones
