We believe the cinema event is still vital for maintaining the health of cinema as an art-form. That’s why we watch hundreds of films and select those we feel have achieved incredible things with minimal resources. But that’s not all. We also help more people to use the camera in their pocket to tell powerful stories.

The FILM MUST BE SHOT ENTIRELY ON A MOBILE DEVICE (smartphones, tablets, GoPro) in HD video.

Pro DSLR, compact cameras or hybrid android cameras are NOT ACCEPTED.

Multiple mobile devices can be used, but NO NON MOBILE FOOTAGE may be included.

Foreign productions are welcome in ANY LANGUAGE, but subtitles in English are mandatory (films in English don't need subtitles).

Any software to edit video (on the smartphone or a computer) and audio, as well as colour correction or special effects, is allowed.

Use of additional equipment (professional or homemade) is allowed, including (but not limited to) external microphone, lenses, lighting, tripod etc.

Copyrighted material is NOT accepted unless there is written permission to do so. (MCF is not liable for any copyrighted material unlawfully used)

The film must be an original production. It must not infringe on the copyright, trademark or other rights of any individual.

Films must have full clearance for all content, including music.

We do accept films that have been published online before submitting.

It is allowed to enter multiple films.

No extreme violence or racist content is allowed.

Winning films are announced on our website and our social media page.

MCF will have the right to publish on their social media channels without any restrictions
