All films must be about mountains, mountain culture or set in a mountain setting.
The goal of the MONTANHA Pico Festival is to presente an arts and educational program about mountain culture from nature, adventure, expeditions, and stories set in a mountain scenery.
FILMS NEED TO BE SET ON MOUNTAIN SCENERY or HAVE A MOUNTAIN THEME.
Films in digital format can be shorts, medium or long features.
Films cannot be in its entirety on the web for all to see.
Films can be in English or Portuguese, or subtitled in one of these languages
All film categories accepted including documentary, fiction, experimental, animation, etc.
Films that educate and promote the environment, mountain culture and life in mountain settings qualify for presentation.
Your film (downloadable) as well as a promotional image, trailer if available and synopsis must be submitted in the same message.
Films selected will be posted on the website www.picofestival.com in the month of december. The Festival happens in January. The Festival is not able to support filmmakers costs to travel. An audience-award prize is given to a filmmaker annually, chosen by the audience. The award includes a trip to next years festival.
MONTANHA Pico Festival is an educational showcase festival that happens in Pico Island, Azores, Portugal.
