MosMos (Mostra de Stop Motion de Sagunt) presenta su convocatoria Internacional 2026 para cortometrajes de animación con la técnica de Stop Motion organizadas por la Asociación Cultural Pausa Zulú con la colaboración de la Concejalía de Juventud de Ayuntamiento de Sagunto.

OPEN CALL FOR ENTRIES / SHORT FILM COMPETITION - MOSMOS 2026

MosMos (Sagunto Stop Motion Film Festival) presents its 2026 International Call for Short Films using the Stop Motion technique, organized by the Pausa Zulú Cultural Association in collaboration with the Sagunto City Council's Youth Department.

Prix ​​en espèces: 1,700€

a) Jury Prize, including a statuette and a cash award of €500

b) Young Audience Award, including a statuette and a cash award of €400

c) Special Award for Best Film Under 61 Seconds, including a statuette and a cash award of €300

d) Award of €500 for the Best Experimental Piece

Rules for the MOSMOS 2026 Competition:

1. Films directed by people of any nationality are welcome.

2. Filmmakers may submit as many works as they wish.

3. Works must be exclusively stop-motion animation, and any of its techniques may be used: pixilation, cut-out, claymation, etc. AI-generated proposals are not accepted. In the "abstraction" category, proposals with figurative visual language of any kind will not be accepted.

4. If the film includes live action, the animation must comprise at least 50% of the short film.

5. Films between 30 seconds and 15 minutes in length will be accepted.

6. The film must be in Spanish or Valencian. If it is in another language, it must be submitted with Spanish or Valencian subtitles.

7. Productions completed after January 2025 are eligible.

9. The deadline for submissions is October 15, 2026.

10. A jury appointed by the festival organizers will select the films that will compete in the official section. The decisions of the Selection and Programming Committee and the Jury are final.

11. The selected short films will form the “official section” and will be publicly screened in some primary and secondary schools in Sagunto, and/or at the Casal Jove de Port and Casal Jove de Sagunt youth centers, as well as in the city of Valencia. The audience will vote for their favorite short films at the end of the screenings.

12. The festival organizers will award the following prizes*:

a) Best Short Film Award: Statuette and €600

b) Best Short Film Award (Directed by a Filmmaker Under 30): Statuette and €500

c) Audience Award: Statuette and €400

d) Award for best short film under one minute: Statuette and €300

e) Best Abstract Film Award: Statuette and €300

* Cash prizes are subject to withholding tax in accordance with current Spanish tax legislation. The amounts stipulated by current Spanish tax regulations will be withheld from the gross prize amount.

13. Short films selected for the festival may be screened in any of its sections. The festival is obligated to inform all short films of the section in which their film will be screened. The organization may use excerpts from the selected works to promote the festival in various media outlets.

14. The authorization of the authors or rights holders for the screening of the selected works during the festival is implied. The MosMos organization (Pausa Zulu Cultural Association and Sagunto City Council) has no contractual obligations to the author or copyright holder of the work, nor to any other collecting society.
