The Palafrugell Short Film Showcase aims to be a small exhibition cycle of cinematic proposals, in short film format, created by young female filmmakers. The goal is to create a space for cultural exchange, ideas, and thoughts, while also serving as a hub for future creative synergies.

Over its two editions, the Showcase has brought together filmmakers from across Spain—Madrid, Galicia, Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha, Murcia...—whose works have been featured in various festivals. At the same time, it has included professional proposals from contemporary filmmakers.

This year marks the launch of the creation lab, where four projects in the final stages of post-production will receive feedback from various industry professionals. The idea is to host a screening—also open to the public—where feedback can be shared with the respective creators.

- Each participant may only submit one work.

- The theme of the short films is open, as long as no human rights are violated.

- There are four categories: FICTION, DOCUMENTARY, ANIMATION, or EXPERIMENTAL.

- The maximum duration of the short films must not exceed 20 minutes (including credits).

- If the original version is not in Catalan or Spanish, subtitles must be provided in one of these two languages -or english-.

- Once selected, a final copy in H264 at 1920x1080 and 20mbps must be provided. For subtitles, a .srt file in Catalan, Spanish, or English, will be required. Additionally, a promotional image of the work, two still frames, and the technical sheet must be submitted.

- For the creation lab section, projects must be in the final stage of post-production, with a
cut that does not exceed 20 minutes in length. Color correction and sound design are not required. Along with the submission via the Festhome platform, this form must be completed: https://forms.gle/37EFfdMjKdt5jUF29

- The deadline for submitting short films is July 27th at 11:59 PM.

- The selection results will be announced in August 2025.

- The selection committee’s decision will be final.

- The organization assumes that the participant holds all copyright and exhibition rights for their work. The organization will not be responsible for any copyright claims.

- By registering, the participant grants exhibition rights for the short film exclusively for the event.

- The showcase may also use some still frames and up to 30 seconds of the works for promotional purposes on social media.
