Fourth Veracruz Cineteca Showcase

CALL FOR ENTRIES

The civil association Cineteca Veracruz invites Mexican and international filmmakers to submit their films to the various non-competitive sections of the Fourth Veracruz Cineteca Showcase, which will take place in October and November 2025.

Film submission period: March 3 to June 6, 2025

Selection notification: July 7, 2025

Non-competitive sections

Veracruz Cinema

All filmmakers from Veracruz, Mexico, and abroad are invited to participate in this section, which includes films that have a thematic or conceptual connection to the Veracruz region. Eligible films must be short films (between 5 and 30 minutes in length), either fiction or non-fiction.

Mexican Short Film

All Mexican filmmakers are invited to participate in this section with their short films (5 to 30 minutes in length), either fiction or non-fiction.

Mexican Feature Film

All Mexican filmmakers are invited to participate in this section with their feature films (60 to 120 minutes in length), either fiction or non-fiction.

International Feature Film

Filmmakers of any nationality are invited to participate in this section with their feature films (60 to 120 minutes in length), either fiction or non-fiction.

Animation Special

Filmmakers of any nationality are invited to participate in this section with their animated short films (5 to 30 minutes in length), either fiction or non-fiction.

Certificates of participation will be delivered to the selected filmmakers.

Guidelines

The Fourth Showcase of Cineteca Veracruz will be held in the cities of Veracruz, Boca del Río, Xalapa, Poza Rica, and Tlacotalpan in the state of Veracruz during the months of October and November 2025.

The Fourth Showcase of Cineteca Veracruz consists of five non-competitive sections: Veracruz Cinema, Mexican Short Film, Mexican Feature Film, International Feature Film, and Animation Special.

The films participating in each section will be selected by a selection committee from the civil association Cineteca Veracruz, whose decision will be final.

For film submissions, short films are defined as works with a duration between 3 and 30 minutes; similarly, feature films are defined as works with a duration between 60 and 120 minutes.

Interested parties must read the call for entries carefully and submit their materials according to the specifications provided on the “Festhome” platform. This will be the only way to register and send materials to participate in the showcase.

The selected films that will make up the Fourth Showcase of Cineteca Veracruz will be notified through the official platform no later than July 7, 2025.

Films selected to participate in the Fourth Showcase of Cineteca Veracruz must confirm their participation by signing the authorization and sending the requested materials no later than July 13, 2025; otherwise, they will be removed from the schedule.

In the case of films whose original language is other than Spanish, they must be subtitled in English for submission and review; if selected, they must be accompanied by SRT subtitle files for screening.

In all cases, the format for submitting materials and screening the selected films will be a digital file with Full HD compression.
