CINE CALLEJERO 2026

Cine Callejero promotes a form of audiovisual circulation based on a simple idea: cinema can also meet its audience outside movie theaters.

In a country where access to culture remains unequal, we want films to circulate through neighborhoods, parks, streets, train stations, and other spaces where everyday life takes place. We are interested in reclaiming public space as a place to watch, discuss, and share cinema.

This purpose involves several challenges. One of them is obtaining authorization from filmmakers and production companies to screen their works in public spaces, with free admission and without commercial purposes. Another is expanding opportunities for films to circulate beyond festivals, movie theaters, and specialized circuits.

Many productions face difficulties reaching audiences beyond those who regularly attend these circuits. Cine Callejero proposes another possibility: bringing films directly to territories and creating encounters between films and communities that, for different reasons, have limited opportunities to access them.

We are not seeking to compete with festivals or replace movie theaters. We propose a complementary form of circulation, in which a film can also generate encounters, conversations, and shared experiences in public space.

For this reason, we are opening this call to build the Cine Callejero 2026 program, with screenings taking place between September and December in neighborhoods, parks, streets, and train stations.

We are looking for works that can spark a conversation, raise questions, encourage reflection on reality, or simply interrupt the routine of a place for a moment.

No hay premios ni galardones. Esta convocatoria está dirigida a cineastas que quieran contribuir a territorios donde el acceso al cine sigue siendo un privilegio.

Las obras presentadas podrán formar parte del programa Cine Callejero 2026 y serán proyectadas de forma gratuita en espacios públicos.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Short films of up to 30 minutes:

Fiction
Documentary
Animation
Experimental

The year of production, place of production, or whether the work has already been screened in theaters, festivals, or other venues does not matter.

We accept works from Colombia and anywhere else in the world.

We do not accept productions made entirely with artificial intelligence.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Works must be in Spanish or have Spanish subtitles.

Submit your work via a downloadable link. We do not accept YouTube links.

Participation in this call is non-competitive. Submitted works become part of an audiovisual programming and circulation process in public spaces, with free admission and without commercial purposes.
