The Nepal Global Film Festival (NGFF) is a premier international film festival held in Kathmandu, Nepal. Built on the philosophy “By filmmakers, for filmmakers,” the festival is envisioned as one of the largest cinematic platforms in the country, bringing together filmmakers, artists, scholars, and audiences from around the world.
The festival showcases a wide spectrum of categories, including feature films, short films, documentaries, human rights cinema, women-centered stories, environmental films, mountain and adventure cinema, climate change narratives, anthropological films, indigenous film and innovative AI-generated films.
NGFF aims to promote global storytelling, artistic excellence, and meaningful cultural exchange through cinema.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Nepal Global Film Festival is designed as a global meeting point for filmmakers and film lovers. Alongside screenings, the festival hosts filmmaker Q&A sessions, panel discussions, and industry networking events to encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing.
The festival will present a curated selection of films from Nepal, Asia, and around the world, highlighting diverse voices and perspectives.

The Nepal Global Film Festival (NGFF) is an independent cultural event organized under its parent organization - Nepal Film and Media Academy. By submitting a film, the applicant agrees to all rules and regulations stated herein. NGFF reserves the right to amend regulations without prior notice.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
• All genres are accepted, including fiction, documentary, animation, AI, and experimental films.
• Films in languages other than english must include english subtitles.
• All submissions must be made through Festhome.
• Submission fees are non-refundable.
• Rough cuts may be submitted but must be clearly labeled as such.
• Final screening copies must be provided upon selection.
• Films from all countries are eligible.
• Multiple entries are permitted, but each film must be submitted separately.
• Submission is free for Nepali filmmakers, considering accessibility and financial limitations.
EXPENSES
The festival does not cover any costs related to:
• Submission process
• Shipping of materials (if applicable)
• Production or promotional expenses of the filmmaker
SELECTION PROCESS
• Films are selected by an independent selection committee.
• The decision of the selection committee is final and non-negotiable.
• NGFF does not provide feedback on submitted films.
SCREENING & RIGHTS
• Selected films grant NGFF the right to screen the film during the festival.
• Excerpts of up to 2 minutes may be used for
promotional purposes.
• Filmmakers retain full copyright of their work.
Awards & prizes
• awards will be determined by a national and international official jury panel.
• NGFF reserves the right to withhold awards if submissions do not meet required standards.
• Cash prizes, trophies, laurels, and certificates will be officially announced.
LIABILITY & RESPONSIBILITY
• The submitter confirms that all rights, including music and third-party content, are fully cleared.
• NGFF is not liable for any copyright infringement claims.
• The festival is not responsible for technical issues during submission.
DISQUALIFICATION
• Films may be disqualified if false or misleading information is provided.
• Any misconduct or violation of festival rules may result in removal from the festival.
ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
• Submission implies full acceptance of all festival rules and regulations.
• In case of dispute, the decision of NGFF management shall be final and binding.
• NGFF has no policy of paying screening fees for selected films.
• By submitting, applicants agree to remain fully bound by all stated terms.
