Festival start: 10 July 2021      Festival end: 11 July 2021

Neurodivergent Film Festival (NDFF) was created with the idea that neurodivergent people should be telling our own stories. We celebrate the uplifting of one another through film, art, and community.

TBD

All films must have at least one neurodivergent director.

Films cannot exceed 30 minutes.

To make the festival accessible, we require that all films have English subtitles.

Films can be in any style, medium, or genre. There is no limitation on the age of the film. We do request that you be able to submit a high resolution 1080p digital file as a final format via Google Drive.

If the film submission is accepted into Neurodivergent Film Festival, the entrant grants Neurodivergent (NDFF) a non-exclusive, royalty free license for use for theatrical and non-theatrical screenings and to publish excerpts in print or electronic media to promote the event in any and all media.

The filmmaker must secure all rights and clearances.

In addition, entrant grants Neurodivergent Film Festival (NDFF) a non-exclusive, royalty free license for use for limited broadcast and distribution by whatever means and on all platforms and media as selected by Neurodivergent Film Festival in its sole discretion.

FAQ:

What is neurodivergent?

Neurodivergent means a brain that diverges. This includes but is not limited to autistic people, people with ADHD, people with learning disabilities, epileptic people, people with mental illnesses, people with MS, people with Parkinsons, people with apraxia, people with cerebral palsy, people with dyspraxia, and people with no specific diagnosis but “wonky lateralization”. (Souce: Neurodivergent K of Radical Neurodivergence Speaking, coiner of the term neurodivergent, https://dahniwitchoflight.wordpress.com/2016/05/21/psa-from-the-actual-coiner-of-neurodivergent/)

Do I have to submit documentation of my diagnosis?

We do not require filmmakers to submit any documentation of their diagnosis. This is not only because we are using the honor system, but because we believe that self diagnosis is valid.
