The 2nd New Order Youth International Film Festival (NOYIFF)

“Reignite the Fiery Pulse of Cinema”

Based in Auckland, New Zealand, the New Order Youth International Film Festival (NOYIFF) continues its mission to empower a new generation of filmmakers and forge a vibrant creative order built upon mutual understanding, appreciation, trust, and collaboration through the art of cinema.

In its inaugural edition, NOYIFF ignited a powerful global response:

Over 5,691 short films were submitted
Representing 120 countries and regions
With over 140 official selections showcased in theatres

Involving jury members from 10+ countries, with all evaluation and commentary conducted online
This resounding participation has affirmed NOYIFF as an emerging force in the international festival landscape, one that prioritises youth, inclusivity, and innovation.

---------------------------------------------------

Our Vision: Beyond Competition

More than a contest, NOYIFF serves as a dynamic platform for young creators to explore cinematic language with boldness and imagination. We embrace artistic experimentation, diverse cultural narratives, and new forms of expression untethered by convention or borders. At our core lies a belief: the evolution of film depends on the untamed energy and vision of young filmmakers.

NOYIFF also recognises the urgency of forming long-term strategic partnerships with film schools, universities, and cultural institutions, ensuring the next generation receives not only encouragement, but also practical support—technical training, production platforms, interdisciplinary exchange, and creative incubation. We aim to build a fertile ecosystem that sustains creative growth.

New in 2025: Four Bold Sections for the Youth of Now

For its second edition, NOYIFF introduces four major competition sections, tailored to embrace the rapidly evolving aesthetics and concerns of young creators:

1. Main Competition
Championing narrative strength, directorial vision, and emotional resonance, this section invites short films from around the world that best exemplify cinematic excellence and innovation.

2. Antigravity|Vertical Film Section
A response to the mobile-first generation. This section celebrates vertical storytelling, challenging traditional formats and tapping into a visual language born in the palm of one’s hand.

3. Synthetic Muse|AI-Powered Storytelling Section
Exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and human creativity, this section invites works that incorporate AI in scripting, editing, animation, or concept development—heralding a new narrative paradigm.

4. The Makers|Crafts Behind the Camera
Shining a light on the unsung heroes of filmmaking—cinematographers, editors, sound designers, production designers, costume and makeup artists. This section celebrates technical and artistic brilliance behind the scenes.

---------------------------------------------------

Looking Forward: New Order, New Impact

NOYIFF is not just a festival—it is a movement. A call to youth around the world: to create, to challenge, to dream, and to define a new cinematic order.

We eagerly await the voices and visions of the second edition’s filmmakers. Whether you are building stories from your hometown, experimenting in digital realms, or dreaming of a future only you can see—your images matter. And they deserve to be seen.

Together, let us reignite the fiery pulse of cinema.
