The International Fantastic Film Festival Noctámbulo, after a successful first edition held in a hybrid format (online and in-person), returns in 2025 to Madrid, aiming to establish itself as a must-attend event for enthusiasts of horror, fantasy, and science fiction.
This new installment features an exciting program designed to captivate both filmmakers and passionate audiences, including:

CALL FOR THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM AND FEATURE FILM COMPETITION 2024
Welcome to all lovers of fantastic cinema. This 2024, Córdoba, Spain, will host the first International Night Fantastic Film Festival, where the best of horror, fantasy and science fiction cinema will be offered.
Registration is open for the selection of feature films and short films. We invite filmmakers, producers, directors and production companies to register their film and be part of the best fantastic cinema experiences.
International Night Fantastic Film Festival, opens a call for Spanish and international short and feature films, inviting all fantasy genre productions: horror, fantasy, science fiction and subgenres thereof. The films that are part of the Official Selection of NOCTÁMBULO will be included in the following sections at the discretion of the committee.

Awards and qualifications
The awards of the International Night Fantastic Film Festival of Córdoba, Spain, have an economic and non-economic nature.
Jury Awards.
A Jury made up of professionals related to cinema, performing arts or communication will choose the winning works of the competitive Official Section. The following recognitions and awards will be determined:
Feature films:

3. Best actor in a feature film (€350+Trophy+Diploma)

The jury's decision is final.
The Jury of the different sections in competition undertakes not to publicly express their considerations regarding the selection of films for which they have to issue their rulings. The Festival management may be present, with voice, but without vote, in the deliberations and communications of the Jury.
Furthermore, the Jury will reserve the possibility of granting special mentions to highlight technical and artistic aspects of the films in competition.
1. Participation
International Night Fantastic Film Festival of Córdoba, Spain, opens a call for short and feature films in the fantasy genre (horror, science fiction, fantasy, thriller, etc.) for its 2024 edition. Productions of any nationality, in any language, may be presented.
The ways to present works for the consideration of the Festival Programming Committee are:
- Through the digital platforms FESTHOME AND FESTIVAL WEBSITE.
The deadline for receipt of viewing copies is August 1, 2024.
2. Conditions for the participation of short films.
The Programming Committee will take into consideration only short films that meet the following conditions:
Production date: All short films whose production date is from 2023 onwards may participate.
Duration: Short films submitted must not exceed 30 minutes in length.
The festival reserves the right to make exceptions.
Formats: With the aim of reducing the carbon footprint as much as possible, the festival will request projection files that can be sent by digital means (DCP, MOV, MP4, etc.). In exceptional cases, other media will be accepted.
Subtitles: If necessary, subtitles in Spanish or the appropriate material to subtitle the film will have to be provided: download link and list of dialogues and/or subtitles. If the film is distributed in Spanish territory, the distribution company must provide the festival with a subtitled OV screening copy.
The festival reserves the right to make specific exceptions to these rules.
3. Conditions for participation in the Official Section of the feature film competition.
Production date: All feature films produced after 2022 will participate.
The Festival reserves the right to program, outside of competition,
Duration: Feature films submitted must have a minimum duration of 31 minutes, not exceeding 120 minutes.
The festival reserves the right to make exceptions.
Formats: With the aim of reducing the carbon footprint as much as possible, the festival will request projection files that can be sent by digital means (DCP, MOV, MP4, etc.). In exceptional cases, other media will be accepted.
Subtitles: If necessary, subtitles in Spanish or the appropriate material to subtitle the film will have to be provided: download link and list of dialogues and/or subtitles. If the film is distributed in Spanish territory, the distribution company must provide the Festival with a subtitled OV screening copy.
The festival reserves the right to make specific exceptions to these rules.
Conditions for participation.
Those titles that are selected will receive confirmation from the International Fantastic Night Film Festival of Córdoba, Spain.
The festival will not communicate individually the “non-selection” of the works. Those titles that are not mentioned in the official communications or that have not received the request from the organization will be left out of the different selections.
The company or individual that provides the short/feature film for participation in the festival must provide advertising material: photos, posters, press kits, trailers, clips, etc. so that the organization can promote the film properly. In order to reduce the carbon footprint, this material must be sent by digital means. The Festival reserves the right not to return these promotional materials.
The producers and/or distributors of the selected films (short films and feature films) authorize, by accepting their participation, the use of one or more fragments of their title for dissemination as informative material in any media or institutional presentation. For these purposes, the producers and/or distributors will make available to the festival's Press Department a selection of sequences with a maximum duration of three minutes.
The registration of a film in the Festival implies full acceptance and compliance with these Participation Rules and their possible Annexes.
Once the selection of a film for any of its Sections has been made and communicated by the Festival, and its participation has also been confirmed by the producer/distributor that registered it, participants will not be able to withdraw the works from the programming.
Competition Selection
The Selection Committee will announce before September 1, 2024 the works (short films and feature films) selected to be part of the competition or selection of the first edition of the Festival. In exceptional cases, the organization may extend the date of these communications.
The selection of a feature film and/or short film to participate in any of the sections DOES NOT INVOLVE THE INVITATION (transfer, accommodation or meals) to the representative of the distributor, the director, or members of the artistic or technical team, etc. , decision will be subject to the interest of the Festival.
The assignment of an award will not imply an invitation (transfer, accommodation or diet) to attend the Festival.
The Festival organization reserves the right to invite any of the participants.
4.Shipping.
The selected short films and feature films must be available to the organization before September 20, 2024.
With the aim of reducing the carbon footprint as much as possible, the festival will request projection files that can be sent by digital means (DCP, MOV, MP4, etc.)
In exceptional cases, other supports will be accepted. In these cases, the payment of the shipping costs (transport and insurance policy) caused by the shipment from the place of issue of the copy of each film selected to participate in any of the sections of the festival to its copy warehouse, will be borne by on behalf of the participating companies.
The Festival reserves the right to not accept copies that, after the necessary technical checks, are not suitable for projection. A new copy may be requested from the representatives and/or authors.
If for a reason beyond the control of the organization the screening copy cannot arrive in time for its exhibition, the organization may replace the title with another.
The only material transportation costs that the Festival organization assumes are those derived from the return of the screening copies on physical media (hard disk or similar) to the distributor that provided the feature film and/or short film. If there was a teathird party interested in any of the selected and/or awarded feature films and/or short films (another festival, etc.), or the distributor, or that interested third party, will assume the transportation costs, under the terms stipulated and necessary. .
Copies used for public display in the established formats will not be returned immediately. The method and period of return will be agreed between the parties.
Programming.
International Night Fantastic Film Festival of Córdoba, Spain, will screen the selected short/feature films within the programming of its 2024 edition.
The Festival organization will decide the start and end dates of the event, as well as the days and times of screening, which may vary depending on the event's needs. If present, the changes will be promptly communicated.
Therefore, the date of the Festival may be postponed or the screening days may be extended due to scheduling setbacks or unexpected force majeure situations.
The Festival will decide the number of times and the time in which each title will be screened.
Awards.
The awards of the International Night Fantastic Film Festival of Córdoba, Spain, have an economic and non-economic nature.

Legal responsibilities.
The contestant will be solely responsible for his/her short film/feature film in terms of copyright and/or civil, criminal or any other type of liability or jurisdictional and/or administrative order derived from its content.
5. Acceptance of the bases and supervening circumstances.
Participation in the International Night Fantastic Film Festival of Córdoba, Spain, implies acceptance of these Rules and possible Annexes.
Any unexpected circumstance that arises during the Festival, not contemplated in these Rules, will be decided by the organization of the event.
In the event of a discrepancy, the organization's criteria will prevail.
The Participation Rules may be complemented or modified, prior to the start date of this Edition International Fantastic Night Film Festival of Córdoba, Spain and prior communication to the interested parties, with as many other annexes as the members of the organization deem appropriate. .
Their interpretation will be the exclusive responsibility of the Festival Management.
Special regulations due to force majeure.
If due to force majeure the Festival cannot be held in person, the registration fee paid through the platforms will not be refunded. This is because the amount paid is used to cover the selection work.
