Otras Miradas, was born with the commitment to be a screen that makes social reality visible.

Likewise, we support the different social groups, so that they show their audiovisual works and in this way their projects can be known by the general public.

In addition, we believe in cinema as an educational tool to raise awareness about current social realities, reflected in the works presented to Otras Miradas.

Otras Miradas International Award.

The works must be produced after October 1, 2024.

New works from any country of origin and whose main theme reflects some social circumstance may be submitted to the competition.

The works can have a maximum duration of 30 minutes.

The format can be: fiction, animation or documentary.

Works made in any language will be admitted to the contest, as long as they are subtitled in Spanish. Works presented in Spanish must also be subtitled in Spanish for reasons of inclusion.

Each participant may present a maximum of three works to Otras Miradas.

Audiovisual works that have been submitted in previous years may not be submitted to the competition.

Possible themes: xenophobia, generational conflict, child exploitation, gender violence, social roles, ecology, health, social issues, functional diversity, mental illness, active ageing, human rights...

The participants fully accept these rules, as well as the resolution by the organization of any variation not included in these.

The registration form, as well as the file of the participating work, must be in the possession of the organization before August 15, 2025, the date of the official closing of the participation period.

Only works that meet the following requirements without excluding any will be accepted for the competition: they are submitted on time, attach the documentation indicated through the Festhome file, the copy on file and are subtitled in Spanish.

The works will be reviewed by a selection committee that will designate the management of Otras Miradas to determine the final selection for the contest.

The decisions of the selection committee are final.

The communication to the authors of the works selected for the final phase will be done by email.

The organization of Otras Miradas acquires the exhibition rights of the works presented during the days that it lasts and in as many public sessions as it deems appropriate. In this regard, the production companies will transfer the rights for the public exhibition of their films during the time the Contest is held at no cost to it.

Otras Miradas reserves the right to possible compilations of works as promotional material, up to a maximum of two minutes, for possible dissemination in any media.

Those interested in being present during the screening of their work must notify their attendance to the Otras Miradas organization, they may present their film in person, if they wish, before the screening. Otras Miradas will not cover travel, lodging and living expenses.

The works that the selection committee considers interesting for educational, training and/or social issues may be used by Otras Miradas, whether or not they have been selected for the contest. Non-profit and prior notice to the producers and/or directors.

The program will be communicated well in advance.
