Hello! We are PARIFF • Paris Indie Film Festival, an international film festival based in Paris, France, and a member of IBERIFF • Iberia Indie Film Festivals. IBERIFF supports independent artists and showcases new productions from around the world through its festivals in Paris (PARIFF), Montpellier (MONTIFF), Madrid (MADRIFF), Barcelona (BARCIFF), València (VALÈIFF), Seville (SEVIFF) and Lisbon (LISBIFF).
PARIFF shares the mission of its associated festivals to support emerging talent, encourage artistic exploration, foster networking, promote cultural exchange, engage with local communities, and provide a platform to celebrate and showcase the work of independent filmmakers.
Fiction, animation, documentary and experimental films of any genre or subject are welcome!
Winners of the main competition categories — Supershort, Short Film, Short Animation, Short AI, Short Dance, Short Experimental, Short Documentary and Music Video — will receive the PARIFF trophy.
Winners of Special Recognition awards, as well as second-place winners (Silver Awards), third-place winners (Bronze Awards) and Honourable Mentions, will receive a PARIFF–IBERIFF certificate.
The following rules and terms apply to all films, videos and other materials submitted to PARIFF. By submitting a work, the submitter agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
1. SUBMISSION
1.1 PARIFF accepts films from France and abroad. Films must have French or English subtitles, unless the original language is French.
1.2 Registration fees must be paid through the submission platforms at the time of submission. All registration fees are non-refundable, subject to any mandatory rights provided by applicable law.
1.3 Multiple entries from the same submitter are accepted. A separate registration fee, as listed on the submission platforms, must be paid for each film submitted.
1.4 Films may be resubmitted provided they have not previously been selected by PARIFF.
1.5 PARIFF is one of the film festivals organised by IBERIFF. Each festival within the IBERIFF network — MADRIFF, BARCIFF, VALÈIFF, SEVIFF, LISBIFF, MONTIFF and PARIFF — has its own independent selection process and jury. Participation in each festival requires a separate submission through the corresponding festival page on the submission platforms.
1.6 Films must be submitted through the official registration platforms and made available for viewing through those platforms. Postal submissions are not accepted.
1.7 PARIFF accepts films from any country, provided they were produced on or after 1 January 2025.
1.8 PARIFF does not provide fee waivers, exemption codes or free registrations.
2. CATEGORIES
2.1 All films must be submitted in digital format under the appropriate category and must comply with the following running-time requirements:

2.3 In addition to their main competition category, submitters may enter one or more of the following Special Recognition categories: Best Production, Best Costume, Best Editing, Best VFX, Best Original Score, Best Young Actress/Actor, Best First-Time Director. Each Special Recognition requires payment of the corresponding additional fee, as listed on the submission platforms.

3.1 In April, the jury will announce the winners of the main competition categories, including first, second and third places, as well as the Special Recognition awardees and Honourable Mentions.
3.2 The annual PARIFF event will take place in Paris in May. Winning films in the main competition categories — Supershort, Short Film, Short Animation, Short AI, Short Dance, Short Experimental, Short Documentary and Music Video — will be screened during the event. The programming team may also include films receiving Special Recognition awards or other films selected at its discretion. 3.3 Winners of the main competition categories — Supershort, Short Film, Short Animation, Short AI, Short Dance, Short Experimental, Short Documentary and Music Video — will receive the PARIFF trophy. Winners of Special Recognition awards, as well as second-place winners (Silver Awards), third-place winners (Bronze Awards) and Honourable Mentions, will receive a PARIFF–IBERIFF certificate.
3.4 All officially selected films automatically compete for Best Direction, Best Actress and Best Actor, at no additional fee.
3.5 Submission of a film does not guarantee official selection, an award or a screening at the festival.
3.6 The decisions of the PARIFF selection committee and jury are final. Submission results will be communicated through the official registration platforms. Award results will also be announced on PARIFF's official Instagram account. Submitters are responsible for checking their submission status and the official announcements.
3.7 PARIFF does not provide individual feedback on submitted films or explanations of the selection committee's or jury's decisions.
4. LIABILITY & RIGHTS
4.1 PARIFF does not publish full films on its website or social media platforms.
4.2 PARIFF does not pay screening fees for submitted films. Any authorised screening takes place under the terms of the exhibition licence granted by the submitter under these Terms and Conditions.
4.3 PARIFF may use images, stills, trailers and press kit materials supplied with or relating to submitted films for festival promotion on its website, social media channels and at festival events. These materials may be adapted to fit the festival's visual identity and promotional formats, provided such adaptations do not materially misrepresent the work.
4.4 The submitter is responsible for obtaining all rights, licences, permissions, consents and releases necessary for the submission and authorised exhibition of the film, including, where applicable, rights relating to music, images, performances, trademarks and other third-party content.
4.5 PARIFF does not cover expenses incurred by filmmakers or their representatives in connection with participation in the festival, including travel, accommodation and other personal expenses.
4.6 The submitter is responsible for ensuring that the submitted work does not infringe third-party rights. PARIFF is not responsible for infringements arising from content supplied by the submitter, except to the extent that liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
4.7 To the extent permitted by applicable law, the submitter agrees to indemnify PARIFF and its associated festivals within the IBERIFF network against third-party claims, losses, damages and reasonable legal expenses arising directly from the submitter's breach of these Terms and Conditions or from the infringement of third-party rights attributable to the submitted work. This provision does not exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
4.8 PARIFF reserves the right to make reasonable changes to its programming, schedule, event arrangements and operational procedures when necessary. Significant changes affecting participation or scheduled screenings will be communicated through the relevant official channels, subject to applicable law.
4.9 Public Exhibition Rights: By submitting a film, the submitter grants PARIFF • Paris Indie Film Festival a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publicly exhibit the submitted work during official PARIFF festival events, including physical screenings. The submitter confirms that they own or control the necessary rights, or are otherwise authorised to grant this licence, including any third-party rights incorporated into the film. The submitter is responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions for the submitted work. All screenings remain subject to applicable law.
5. DISQUALIFICATION & WITHDRAWAL
5.1 Failure to meet the eligibility requirements or to provide materials reasonably requested by the organisation may result in disqualification at any stage of the competition.
5.2 PARIFF reserves the right to disqualify a film or remove it from festival listings if there is a substantiated legal, eligibility or compliance issue, including a breach of these Terms and Conditions, fraud, infringement of third-party rights or other serious circumstances that materially affect the integrity of the competition or the festival.
5.3 Disqualification does not entitle the submitter to a refund of the registration fee, subject to any mandatory rights provided by applicable law.
5.4 Registration fees are not refundable if a filmmaker voluntarily withdraws a film from the festival, subject to any mandatory rights provided by applicable law.
6. ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS
