PVIFF SHORT FILM/SHORT DOCS COMPETITION SPONSORED BY JARO:
PVIFF is again partnering with JARO, an exciting multi-media digital platform, to launch our fifth annual short film competition. This year we are also including documentary shorts. Our partnership with JARO will provide filmmakers an opportunity to promote their works and have their films watched and voted on via an online audience. The top short films/docs will be chosen by an industry-select jury with representation from JARO, African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) and PVIFF. The winners will receive a guaranteed slot at PVIFF. The top 3 winners of the Short Film/Short Docs Competition will receive special awards and cash prizes. Top rated films/docs that are selected will be automatically eligible to participate in JARO’s filmmaker marketing, promotion and monetization programs for time they are selected as finalists for the competition for a minimum of 90 days post festival.

Filmmakers must agree to let their films be shown at the discretion of the festival. This means that the filmmaker may not receive the opportunity for his/her film to be showcased. Top short films/short docs selected by our jury (including PVIFF, AAFCA and JARO participants),unless otherwise specified, will be shown on www.watchjaro.com and rated by JARO’s online audience as a part of PVIFF's review process for final film selections. All JARO Short film/Short Doc winners must agree to let their films be shown on the JARO platform for three months following the award announcement to accommodate post event promotional opportunities.

All information regarding film showcases will be shared with the winners and prizes will be given to the winners that enter their correct contact information. We will attempt to contact the winning filmmaker twice following the festival regarding their award. If we do not receive a response from the filmmaker within 10 business days the award will be withheld.

Festhome responsabiliza a los festivales de las tasas reteniendo el pago de las tasas de la mayoría de los festivales más nuevos hasta que hayan visto las presentaciones, celebrado sus festivales y otros métodos.
