Pequecinema is a Touring Children's Film Festival that in 2027 will visit several towns across Spain, showcasing the best short films aimed at a young audience (from 2 to 15 years old).

Organized by CortoEspaña - Premios Fugaz (the main short film awards in Spain, chosen by more than 1,700 industry professionals), the event seeks to give visibility to works directed at younger audiences, while also promoting short films and fostering a love for the format among the youngest members of the household.

Screening Fee Shorts: 250€

Selected short films will be included in Pequecinema’s various programmes. Each short film will receive a screening fee of €40 (plus VAT) for each screening in which it is included. The total amount will be paid in a single payment at the end of 2027, covering all events at which the short film is screened from the time of its selection until the end of the year. Not all short films will be screened at every event, as some events will consist of a single programme. The representatives of each short film will be informed in a timely manner of every event in which their film is included.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

· Short films from any country may be submitted, provided they have a running time of no more than 30 minutes and premiered on or after 1 January 2025.

· Films in languages other than Spanish must include Spanish subtitles.

· Films of all genres are welcome, including animation and live-action fiction. Documentary and experimental films will also be considered, provided they are suitable for children.

· The submission deadline is 30 November 2026 (inclusive).

· Each filmmaker may submit as many short films as they wish.



SELECTION TERMS

A selection committee will choose between 20 and 30 films to be screened across Spain at some of the events that make up Pequecinema 2027. The organisers cannot confirm the exact number of events that will take place: there were 13 events in 2025 and, so far, 10 in 2026, each comprising between one and four short film programmes with free admission. Pequecinema will endeavour to bring the project to as many locations as possible (see dates and locations of previous events here).

ADDITIONAL TERMS

· The organisers reserve the right to use excerpts of less than 60 seconds from selected short films to produce promotional audiovisual materials.

· The directors of selected short films agree, wherever possible, to make themselves available for interviews and provide news items to help promote their short film, Pequecinema and/or its associated events.

· Confidentiality commitment: Pequecinema will use submitted materials for private viewing. Under no circumstances will it use them for other purposes or distribute or screen them through physical, electronic or online media outside the events that form part of the circuit.

· Viewing commitment: Pequecinema undertakes to watch all submitted films.

· Acceptance of the rules: submitting a film to Pequecinema through its entry form constitutes acceptance of all provisions of these rules, as well as acceptance of the organisers’ decisions on any matters not covered herein.
