In the early days of cinema, with the advent of the cinematograph, the avant-garde artists found a new medium of expression, called seventh art, which was soon adopted by the major studios.

Thus, the space occupied by the Santander International Film Festival — Picknic Film Festival, is a place where films of reduced visibility and distribution, but selected for prestigious film festivals, with the approval of the press, have the possibility to be screened.

3.- BEST VIDEOCREATION. DIPLOMA
4.- BEST DOCUMENTARY. DIPLOMA
5.- BEST FILM. STATUETTE

REQUIREMENTS

1.- PARTICIPANTS:

1.1. Single or collective.
1.2. Regardless of nationality or residence.

2.- CATEGORIES*:

1.- FICTION SHORT FILM. Regarding any thematic.
2.- ANIMATION. Regarding any thematic.
3.- VIDEOCREATION. Works that do not correspond to the definition of the previous modules.
4.- DOCUMENTARY. Regarding any thematic.
5.- MINI PICKNIC. Family friendly films.
6.- CINEMA. Films to compete.

* The same work cannot participate in more than one category.

3.- TECHNICAL CONDITIONS:

3.1. The works shall be presented in digital format, regardless of the original device that they have been produced with.

3.2. Each participant, single or collective, shall present a maximum of two works to the Festival. The total duration of each production shall not last longer than 30 minutes, except the CINEMA category.

3.3. Works can be presented in any language. If works are not presented in Spanish, Spanish subtitles will be required.

3.4. If a participant presents two works:
a) Each work will be presented in a single file.
b) It will be necessary to make a reference card for each work.

3.5. The production date should be after the 1st of January 2024.

3.6. Works presented in previous editions of this Festival shall not be presented again.

4.- JURY:

4.1. The technical organization team propose that the Festival Commission shall appoint the members of the Jury who are to intervene in the selection phases of the Festival.

4.2. The Jury's decisions shall be unappealable.

5.- FESTIVAL PHASES:

5.1. FIRST PHASE: Selection from the 1st of April to the 31st of May 2026.

5.2. SECOND PHASE: Festival development. It shall be done from the 17th to the 30th of August 2026.

6.- AWARDS:

1.- BEST FICTION SHORT FILM. DIPLOMA
2.- BEST ANIMATION. DIPLOMA
3.- BEST VIDEOCREATION. DIPLOMA
4.- BEST DOCUMENTARY. DIPLOMA
5.- BEST FEATURE FILM. STATUETTE

7.- INSCRIPTIONS:

7.1. The works delivering shall be done:

b) Through the FESTHOME platform.

7.2. Presentation of the works: between the 16th of February and the 31st of March 2026.

7.3. To be presented with each work:

Brief filmography of the author.

Synopsis or description and reference card.

The lack of any document could lead to the inadmissibility of the work to the competition.

8.- USE OF THE WORKS:

All the participating works may be included in the Demolden Video Project’s Audiovisual Fund, unless its author isn’t consented to when applying.

In that case DEMOLDEN VIDEO PROJECT – SANTANDER INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL may reserve its right of reproducing the works presented, mentioning the author, in order to be seen by the Media, and showing them, but never for a commercial use.

The works presented for the competition shall not be returned to the applicant.

9.- REQUIREMENTS ACCEPTANCE:

The participation in the Festival means the acceptance of these requirements.
