Premios Imagenera de Creación Documental sobre AndalucÍa (18)

La Fundación Pública Andaluza Centro de Estudios Andaluces M.P. (Fundación CENTRA en adelante), entidad adscrita a la Consejería de la Presidencia, Interior, Diálogo Social y Simplificación Administrativa de la Junta de Andalucía, convoca de acuerdo con los principios de publicidad, concurrencia y objetividad la XVIII edición de los Premios IMAGENERA de Creación Documental sobre Andalucía, correspondientes a 2024.

IMAGENERA apuesta por promover el conocimiento y la investigación sobre Andalucía a través del lenguaje documental generando un patrimonio visual que preservar y difundir.

La 18 edición contempla las modalidades de Documental Audiovisual y Fotografía destinada a trabajos, sin acotación temática ni temporal, que presenten una imagen de Andalucía en su sentido más amplio y diverso:

• Trabajos visuales que logren representar o defender las oportunidades presentes y expectativas de futuro de la Comunidad Autónoma.

• Obras que exploren el pasado de Andalucía desde la perspectiva de nuestro tiempo.

• Aquellas que pongan en valor cualquier aspecto de la realidad andaluza que fomente nuestra Comunidad Autónoma como símbolo, imagen o icono de una comunidad moderna y versátil, dentro del contexto de España, Europa y el mundo.

• Se valorarán los trabajos que muestren con especial interés el rumbo de Andalucía en cohesión con sus valores sociales, económicos, tecnológicos, políticos o culturales.

Cash Prizes: 10,000€

IMAGENERA contempla la concesión de un premio por cada modalidad, siendo la dotación de cada premio la siguiente:

• Premio de la modalidad LARGOMETRAJE DOCUMENTAL AUDIOVISUAL: 6.000 euros brutos y galardón.
• Premio de la modalidad CORTOMETRAJE DOCUMENTAL AUDIOVISUAL: 4.000 euros brutos y galardón.

En el pago de los Premios IMAGENERA la Fundación CENTRA efectuará la correspondiente retención a cuenta establecida en el Impuesto sobre la Renta de las Personas Físicas (IRPF).

FIRST. PARTICIPANTS

All authors, producers and directors who own the rights to the works they submit may participate. In the case of a natural person, they must be at least 18 years old.

Each participant may submit only one work per category.

SECOND. TYPES

The following categories are available for this edition:

1.- Audiovisual documentary

• Feature films (documentary film)

• Short and medium-length films (documentary short)

2.- Photography

THIRD. PRESENTATION OF AUDIOVISUAL DOCUMENTARIES
I. CHARACTERISTICS
In the AUDIOVISUAL DOCUMENTARY category, no documentary that has been submitted to this same competition in previous editions and/or that has been produced before January 1, 2023 will be accepted. Documentaries intended for institutional advertising will not be accepted.

The following categories are established:

- Documentary feature film: audiovisual documentaries lasting more than 50 minutes.
- Documentary short and medium-length film: audiovisual documentaries lasting 50 minutes or less.

The works must be submitted in their original language. In the case of a version other than Spanish, they must have Spanish subtitles.

II. FORM AND DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION
In order to participate, applicants must be legally authorized to submit their works to the competition.

The works will be submitted by one of the following means:

1. Through FESTHOME, it being essential to complete the registration form provided by each platform and adhering to the video formats accepted by each one.

2. By registering at the following LINK https://www.centrodeestudiosandaluces.es/premios-imagenera/cat/convocatoria
Participants will complete the form with the required data, generating a request code. Once all the information has been completed, you will receive an email notifying you of your participation in the competition.

It is important that you provide the access keys in the event that the documentaries are protected by a password.

Subsequently, the Selection Committee will be responsible for selecting from all the works received those that continue in the process to be evaluated by the members of the Jury. At this stage, the finalists will receive an email with instructions to access the IMAGENERA platform and complete the registration. Once the procedure is completed, you will receive an email notifying you that your application has been registered correctly.

Registration to participate in the competition implies acceptance of the rules governing the call.

The deadline for submitting the works and the required documentation will be 20 calendar days from the day after the call is published in BOJA, until 2:00 p.m. on the last day of the deadline. If it coincides with a non-working day, it will be deemed to be extended to the next working day.

FOURTH. SUBMISSION OF PHOTOGRAPHS
I. CHARACTERISTICS
In the PHOTOGRAPHY category, works composed of either a single photograph or a series of up to a maximum of three images will be accepted. The photographs will be submitted by uploading digital files, which must meet the following technical specifications:

• JPEG/PNG format, quality 12
• RGB mode with embedded profile
• Resolution 72 dpi
• Size 1,600px longest side
• Maximum weight 3 MB per image

Each digital file must have the correct viewing orientation and, in the case of series, must be uploaded to the system in the order desired by the author. Files that are not numbered (from 1 to 3) will not be admitted to the call for entries.

Once the Awards have been announced, the corresponding file or files will be requested to be sent in TIFF format, at a minimum of 80 cm on the longest side (unless other formats are considered for artistic reasons) and at 300 dpi, so it is important to ensure that the original files meet these requirements.

FIFTH. AUTHORSHIP
The authors guarantee that the work is original, that they are the legitimate owners of all the rights inherent to it, as well as the authorization to receive the prize and that it does not violate the rights of third parties.

In any case, the organization is exempt from any liability that may arise from the infringement of this rule.

SIXTH. SELECTION OF WORKS
A Selection Committee will be appointed for each category: Documentary and Photography, made up of independent professionals from the medium, who will be responsible for selecting from all the works received, taking into account the general requirements established in the call and the artistic quality, those that continue in the selection process to be evaluated by the Jury.

The designation of the Selection Committees will be published on the CENTRA Foundation website (www.centrodeestudiosandaluces.es).

The decisions adopted will be made public by the same means within a period not exceeding four months from the end of the deadline for submitting applications.

SEVENTH. FINANCIAL ENDOWMENT
IMAGENERA contemplates the granting of a prize for each category, with the endowment of each prize being the following:

• Prize for the AUDIOVISUAL DOCUMENTARY FEATURE category: 6,000 euros gross and award.
• Prize for the AUDIOVISUAL DOCUMENTARY SHORT FILM category: 4,000 euros gross and award.
• Prize for the PHOTOGRAPHY category: 3,000 euros gross and award.

In the payment of the IMAGENERA Awards, the CENTRA Foundation will make the corresponding withholding tax established in the Personal Income Tax (IRPF).

EIGHTH. JURIES
Two juries will be formed, one for the AUDIOVISUAL DOCUMENTARY category and another for the PHOTOGRAPHY category.

The members of each Jury and the person who will coordinate it will be appointed by resolution of the Management Directorate of the CENTRA Foundation, taking into account criteria of professionalism, impartiality and professional prestige. This information will be published on the CENTRA Foundation website (www.centrodeestudiosandaluces.es).

The Secretary of both Juries, who will act with voice but no vote, will be appointed by the Management Directorate of the CENTRA Foundation from among the staff of this Foundation.

The Jury of each category will act in full and the attendance of at least two thirds of its members will be required. Its deliberations will be secret. The corresponding minutes of the decision it adopts will be drawn up, which will be signed by those who exercise the functions of Coordination and the Secretary.

The decision of the Jury of each category will be final, it will be published on the CENTRA Foundation website (www.centrodeestudiosandaluces.es) and will be notified by email to each participant.

NINTH. COMPENSATION. EXPLOITATION RIGHTS
Participants authorize the CENTRA Foundation to use frames, extracts from the films and photographs for their dissemination in any communication and promotion medium, in order to promote and disseminate this competition. The documentation and material sent for the selected works may appear in all advertising and promotion media for the IMAGENERA Awards.

For the exercise of exploitation rights, the owner of the award-winning documentaries will not receive from the CENTRA Foundation any additional financial compensation to that corresponding to the endowment assigned to the prize obtained, expressed in this call.

The winners undertake, on the one hand, to incorporate at the beginning of the documentary the logo of the Andalusian Studies Centre Foundation, which will be provided to them in digital format by the CENTRA Foundation with express reference to the prize obtained, and on the other, to collaborate in all those promotional and dissemination actions that are deemed necessary.

In the PHOTOGRAPHY category, participation in this call implies that the person who owns the winning photograph will authorize the right of public exhibition to the CENTRA Foundation without prejudice to its moral, author and intellectual property rights. For this purpose, the Foundation will be responsible for the economic costs of the photographomically the production on physical support of the photograph and its adaptations. In the event that any use is made of the winning photograph, the name of the author will appear in a visible place. In the case of the transfer of exploitation rights over the winning work, the temporal and territorial limit of use of the same will be agreed with the person who owns the photograph, the value of this transfer not exceeding the economic value of the prize received.

All the works that participate in the IMAGENERA Awards for Documentary Creation on Andalusia may be used by the CENTRA Foundation to promote the winning works and their authors, as well as the IMAGENERA Awards themselves without any commercial purpose.

TENTH. AWARD CEREMONY
The award ceremony will take place at a public event on a date to be determined, at which the award-winning works may be screened and exhibited.

ELEVENTH. NON-AWARDED WORKS
The non-awarded documentaries and photographs will be removed from the platform where they are hosted once the call has ended.

What is the legitimacy for the processing of your data?

The legal basis for the processing of your data is the contractual relationship and the bases of the call in accordance with the RGPD: 6.1.c) Compliance with a legal obligation of the person responsible. Law 58/2003, of December 17, General Tax Legislative Decree 1/2010, of March 2, General Law of Public Finance of the Junta de Andalucía. GDPR: 6.1.e) Compliance with a mission carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of public powers.
