Prix Philoxenia – The Short Film Competition on Hospitality
What if a simple short film could change the way we see others?

The Prix Philoxenia invites young people aged 12 to 24 to share their vision of hospitality through a 1-to-5-minute film: welcoming others, reaching out, overcoming differences, and creating connections. Whether social, cultural, intergenerational, sporting, religious, or linked to migration, hospitality lies at the heart of the stories that bring us together.

Open to both first-time and experienced filmmakers, the competition is accessible to everyone: a simple smartphone is all you need to take part. Entries can be submitted individually, as a group, or as part of a school or educational institution project.

Six awards (Jury and Audience Awards across three categories: Middle School, High School, and 18–24-year-olds) will recognize the most inspiring films at the Grand Rex in Paris, with €1,000 awarded to each winner.

If you have a story to tell and want to share your vision of the world, join the Philoxenia adventure.

Rules and Conditions of Participation
The Prix Philoxenia is open to all young people aged 12 to 24, whether they participate individually, as part of a team, or through a school or educational institution. Registration is completely free.

To take part, participants simply need to create an original short film of 1 to 5 minutes (including credits) on the theme of hospitality in all its dimensions: welcoming others, solidarity, inclusion, living together, intercultural exchange, disability, migration, sport, family… Let your creativity flow: fiction, documentary, animation, music video, or experimental formats are all welcome.

Your film must be conceived, filmed, and edited by the young participants. The use of artificial intelligence tools is permitted, provided that it is declared and remains in support of your creative approach.

A smartphone, camera, or any other filming equipment is sufficient: above all, it is the strength of your story, your perspective, and your creativity that will make the difference. Films will be judged on the quality of their message, their originality, and their direction, rather than on the technical resources used.

Before submitting your film, please make sure you have obtained all necessary permissions (image rights, music rights, and rights for any content used) and that you comply with the official competition rules. All practical information, the schedule, and educational resources are available on the Prix Philoxenia website.
