The 10th edition of **24 Risas por Segundo, International Film and Comedy Festival**, will take place **from May 11 to 17 in Mexico City**, and for that reason, we are **calling on Mexican and international filmmakers** to submit their **comedy films (shorts and features)** to be part of our program.

The films in the Official Selection will participate for theAudience Award 24 Risas por Segundo, which will be voted directly in the theaters and consisting of a trophy and gifts from our sponsors (not cash)

• Any national or international filmmaker may participate.

• Films must have been produced between 2024 and 2026.

• The maximum duration for short films is 30 minutes, and the minimum duration for feature films is 60 minutes.

• For screening purposes, films must include subtitles in Spanish or english if they are not spoken in either of those languages—no exceptions. If the film is selected, a copy with Spanish subtitles must be provided for exhibition.

• The theme of the films is completely open but must belong to the COMEDY genre, in any of its forms or subgenres.

• Fiction, animation, and documentary films will be accepted.

• Music videos or commercial spots will not be accepted.

• Submission is free of charge for Mexican productions. For international productions, submission fees are determined by the corresponding platforms.

• Submissions will be accepted only online through the following platform: Festhome.

• The submission deadline is February 5, 2026.

• Once a film has been submitted, it cannot be withdrawn from the festival.

• The festival’s programming team will review all submitted films and select those that will form part of the Official Selection (Mexican Feature Film, Mexican Short Film, and International Short Film).

• The list of selected films will be published on April 6, and selected participants will have until April 17 to deliver their exhibition copies. Shipping costs must be covered by the participants.

• The only accepted exhibition formats for feature films are Blu-ray and DCP. For short films, the projection format is H.264 (.mp4 or .mov).

• All selected works will receive a digital certificate of participation in the festival.

• Films included in the Official Selection will compete for the 24 Risas por Segundo Audience Award, which will be voted directly by audiences in the theaters and consists of a trophy and gifts from our sponsors (no cash prize).

• Screening rights will not be paid under any circumstances.

• The programming team will determine the screening dates, times, and venues for each film during the festival.

• Selected films may also be considered for national and international traveling showcases organized by the festival.

• The 10th edition of the festival will be held in a 100% in-person format.

• Any situation not covered in this call for entries will be resolved by the festival’s organizing committee.
