The 2nd Seoul Eunpyeong Salad-Days Film Festival supports the free expression and independent working environment of young film directors. Through this, we aim to explore the potential for aesthetic progress and a new blueprint for Korean cinema created by young directors.

The awards in the Korean competition of the 2nd Seoul Eunpyeong Salad-Days Film Festival are as follows. The names of the awards are subject to change depending on the circumstances of the festival.

Golden Wing: The highest prize for the best film at the SESFF.(3 million won in prize money and a trophy)

Grand Jury Prize: The second most prestigious prize at the SESFF(1 million won in prize money and a trophy)

Salad-Days Prize: Prize for the emerging director(1 million won in prize money and a trophy)

Kim Dosan · Lee Wolhwa Prize: Prize for actors/actresses, documentary cast members, animated characters, etc.(1 million won in prize money and a trophy)

Lumière · Edison Prize: Prize for cinematographers, lighting directors, editing directors, art directors, etc.(1 million won in prize money and a trophy)

Audience Prize 1~5: The prize will be determined by audience votes.(1 million won in prize money and trophies will be awarded to five films.)

Entry Eligibility

(1) Short films under 35 minutes can be submitted to the 2nd SESFF.


(2) Directors must be born between January 1, 1985, and December 31, 2005.

(3) All genres, formats, and production countries are eligible for entry,and the production must have been completed after January 2021.

(4) The screening section of the submitted films will be determined based on the results of the jury's review.

(5) Entrants must provide a screener link to their entry that is set to private (YouTube, Vimeo, or other shared drive) and email it to wingsforest.inc@gmail.com along with the entry form.

DCP Transmission
The DCPs of the final selections must arrive at WINGSFOREST INC.‘s before July 29, 2024. WINGSFOREST INC. office address and email are as follows. It can be submitted using a shared drive. When submitting a physical drive, please notify the contents of the transmission to the email address provided below.

Entry and Judging Schedule

(1) Entry Schedule: May 14, 2024 - June 24, 2024, 23:59

(2) Preliminary Judging Schedule: June 25, 2024 - July 13, 2024

(3) Final Judging Schedule: July 14, 2024 - July 31, 2024

Screening Sector

(1) Korean Competition: Provides a platform for young Korean filmmakers to compete and engage with audiences.

(2) Korean Invitation: In light of the entry, the theme that effectively portrays the current state of young directors’ film has been chosen for discussion and anlaysis of the contemporary issues.

(3) International Invitations: Introducing international films that showcase creative expression to Korean audiences and supporting Korean Salad-Days cinema to foster developmental interactions with other cultures.

General Rules

(1) Films selected for the festival must submit screening-related materials (film information, director information, posters, trailers, still cuts, scenarios, pre-production books, etc.) required by the Seoul Eunpyeong Salad-Days Film Festival within the deadline. The submitted materials are stored and provided for archival purposes, such as producing publications and promotional materials for the Seoul Eunpyeong Salad-Days Film Festival. They can be viewed and utilized for non-profit and public interest purposes.

(2) For selected films, promotional clips provided by directors can be used, and video clips of about 5 minutes of the total length can be produced by SESFF to promote both SESFF and the selected films.

(3) Selected films may be additionally screened for public interest purposes only at events of WINGSFOREST INC., and submitted images can be used for non-commercial and commercial purposes to promote SESFF.

(4) Upon the submission of the film for entry, this regulation shall come into effect, and the General Delegate of the Seoul Eunpyeong Salad-Days Film Festival shall have the authority to make decisions on content that is not otherwise specified in this regulation.
