Shockfest film festival, now in it’s 12th consecutive year, specializes in showcasing the most intriguing, controversial, and groundbreaking content out there. We pride ourselves on supporting independent filmmakers with unique a screening experience, offering not only a home for your movie's screening or world premiere, but also direction for you to take your work once the festival is over.

We celebrate originality, creativity and passion for the filmmaking process and offer a variety of awards for the select films that represent the very best in their class. Shockfest is proud to provide you with an event like no other to share your work with industry professionals, fans and distributors alike as well as offer the most immersive and interactive horror-based film festival experience out there today.

All Award Recipients receive customized trophies. Additional special surprise gifts, goodies and grants offered during the Shockfest Awards Ceremony.

Various filmmaker events are organized for the filmmakers during the events.

Shockfest Film Festival is an IMDb recognized event, and award winners will automatically be added to the platform. Filmmakers who selected the 'Review' package will also have their quotes included on their films' pages.

Submitting your project opens you and it to a variety of additional sponsorship and award opportunities, as Shockfest Film Festival is a travelling festival within the United States! Your films’ entry automatically registers it within our Shockfest Horror Factory’s web, making it eligible to screen and compete in our Horror Tour Machine’s many themed horror events, wherein additional laurels, awards, and gifts are made available!

(1) Entries must be sent via Secure Online Screener.

(2) Films can be tied to a DOMESTIC DISTRIBUTION DEAL.

(3) Participants agree that their film or clips from it and all other material related to their project may be used and/or published in the event program, Shockfest web site and for any promotional purposes which Shockfest deems appropriate.

(4) No viewing tapes and/or promotional materials will be returned to the filmmaker.

(5) If selected, all commercial/private property including all trademark/copyrighted materials shown or recorded on the project is the responsibility of the filmmaker. Shockfest will NOT take responsibility for any infringement of copy written materials.

(6) The cost of delivery and pick-up of all materials is the responsibility of the filmmaker.

(7) Shockfest holds no responsibility for lost or damaged prints. While the utmost care will be taken with regard to prints, it is solely up to the filmmaker to take full responsibility (i.e. insurance). The Shockfest, its officers, directors, volunteers and sponsors are held harmless by filmmaker for all claims financial or otherwise and from any damage to the print in route or otherwise during the course of the Festival's possession of the film; Films submitted may not be subject to any litigation nor threatened by any litigation.

(8) By submitting an entry, filmmaker states that he or she is responsible as an agent to promote the film and that the film is an original work.

(9) There is no production or completion date. We accept films from any era!




  Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
