The Social Machinery Film Festival is a
"Road Map Film Festival"
with different locations in Italy and around Europe for each event:
1) Premiere Film Selection
2) Semi Finalist Film Selection
3) Finalist Film Selection
4) Winner Award Celebration
5) Hall of Fame (This section is only for all awarded films)
6) Video On Demand Streaming Platform (A selection of both awarded and non awarded films submitted)
During this "Road Map Film Festival" many other public screenings in various nice cities and locations are included. We need many months (like 4/6 months) to select the best creative talented visionary audiovisual change makers (from the launch of the Premiere Screening Party to Winner Award Celebration Party) .
We get our time (nobody is on a rush in our team) to discover not only the real story behind the film, but also who is the filmmaker. So the film festival team follows a scheduled selection process with detailed communication techniques, with the main focus not only to better enhance the creative talent of each filmmaker, but also to help the filmmaker launch the best positive message to a worldwide audience.
And obviously all awarded films are published in the special online section called the "Hall of Fame".
This is a long lasting section where the profile of the filmmaker is promoted with the winner awarded film, during the special event called "The Dream Machine".
The Social Machinery Film Festival is focused on the promotion of alternative audiovisual film productions across the globe.
"This is the power of an "open source social project", where people with diverse backgrounds,
from many different parts of the world, collaborate together in a self built community to analyse, study, change and improve our society"
Joseph Caristena

Our cultural environment is changing quickly and becoming more and more diversified. Cultural diversity is an essential condition of human society, brought about by cross-border migration, the claim of national and other minorities to a distinct cultural identity, the cultural effects of globalisation, the growing interdependence between all world regions and the advances of information and communication media. Cultural diversity is also an economic, social and political plus, which needs to be developed and adequately managed. Dialogue between cultures, the oldest and most fundamental mode of democratic conversation, is an antidote to rejection and violence. Its objective is to enable us to live together peacefully and constructively in a multicultural world and to develop a sense of community and belonging.

It shows the way how people can love their villages and stop moving to cities for employment and sometimes to improve their lifestyle. We wish to let people around the world know about these concepts and also know that it does not need a celebrity or huge budgets to implement a "Local Village Social Development Project". Violence against women is a one of the most pervasive human rights violations in the world, rooted in gender inequality, discrimination and harmful cultural and social norms. It is also increasingly recognized as a public health issue that adversely affects the health of women. The relationship between gender and violence is complex. The different roles and behaviours of females and males are shaped and reinforced by gender norms within society. These are social expectations that define appropriate behaviour for women and men. The promotion of gender equality to prevent violence against women is the main focus of any social campaign.

Theatre productions in the 21st Century (Not the whole live theatre performances, but only a MAX 15 minute showreel with backstage, live interviews, storytelling and audience development). Our team is really interested in the kind of social message that the show transmits to the The best suitable showreels for this film festival should explore and discover contemporary social issues, including community social justice and inclusion through theatre art performances. At the same time the emergence of social practice as a trend speaks to two fundamental shifts in culture: one, a broad re-thinking of the role of the arts in society and two, a rejection of corporate capitalism’s demand that citizenship is predicated on being only a consumer, not a creator or empowered participant in civic life. A key feature of the art scene in the 21st century is the impact of globalization – the accelerating interconnectivity of human activity and information across time and space.
