OBJECTIVE

With the purpose of enjoying, supporting creators and their teams, and promoting comedy short films, Ozzypiuntur Producciones, 3PH Producciones, the Centre Cívic de la Teixonera, and with the support and funding of the Ajuntament de Barcelona – District of Horta Guinardó, we are proud to present:
The 10th edition of the FIRST INTERNATIONAL HUMOR SHORT FILM FESTIVAL OF BARCELONA, held in the neighborhood of La Taxonera.

SHORT FILM COMPETITION RULES

1. The festival focuses on the humor and comedy genre. Therefore, participation in the taSHORTfest Award and the Audience Award for Best Comedy Short Film is open to all filmmakers aged 18 and over.

2. The submission period will open on November 1, 2025, and close on April 30, 2026. The submission fee will vary according to the month of registration:

o November – December 2025: €4

o January – February 2026: €5

o March – April 2026: €6

3. The organization reserves the right to close submissions before or after the established deadline if deemed necessary through the online platforms.

4. The submitted digital files will become part of the festival’s archive and may be used for non-profit cultural activities or for promoting the festival. As a courtesy, filmmakers will be informed of any such use. Under no circumstances will the films be transferred to third parties for commercial purposes. Authors will always retain full ownership of their works.


OBLIGATIONS OF PARTICIPANTS

1. Before participating, each applicant must read and fully accept these rules. Failure to comply with any of the rules will result in disqualification and loss of any right to a prize.

2. Each filmmaker or collective may submit more than one short film.

3. The rights holders of the submitted short films will be solely responsible for all rights related to their works. The festival assumes that the films are free of any legal claims. The festival declines all legal responsibility regarding the films and their authors and/or producers. In the event of a legal dispute, the organization reserves the right to demand the return of the awards (both physical and monetary), which must be returned by the awardees.

4. Any shipping costs, if applicable, will be borne by the participants.

5. If selected as a finalist, the presence of the filmmaker or a representative will be appreciated at the awards ceremony, which will take place on July 9, 10, and 11, 2026, in the evening, at the Centre Cívic de la Teixonera (Carrer Arenys, 75, 08035 Barcelona). In case of unforeseen circumstances, the organization will notify any change of date, time, or format (online or in-person).

6. The winner of the taSHORTfest Award for Best Comedy Short Film will be invited to participate as a jury member in the following edition, provided they agree and that there is no conflict of interest with any of their works selected or participating in the next year’s competition.


SHORT FILM REQUIREMENTS

1. The theme of the short films is open, as long as humor or comedy predominates, regardless of the genre or technique used (live action, animation, CGI, etc.).

2. The running time must not exceed 20 minutes.

3. The short film must have been completed after January 1, 2022.

4. Films must be in Spanish or Catalan, or include subtitles in one of these languages if made in another language.

5. The organization may request english subtitles for films shot in Spanish or Catalan.

6. From June 1, 2026, the contact person who submitted the short film must regularly check their email for notifications from the festival.
