Welcome to The Film Tuition International Festival; a festival by the filmmakers, for the filmmakers. The Film Tuition International Festival is a celebration of the art of filmmaking from all around the world, hosted in the heart of Pakistan – Islamabad.

We at The Film Tuition, aim to provide a platform for emerging, as well as established filmmakers to exhibit their creative visions and hard work to connect with a varied audience from all over Pakistan. TFTIF is one for all, as we have a selection of categories for your passion projects! This festival is a rare reflection of the rich and ingenious film culture in Pakistan and aims to showcase the personalised art of cinematic storytelling from all around the world.

Through this festival, we hope to not only entertain but also educate and inspire the audience and young emerging talent to ensure a deeper understanding of the art of filmmaking. The Film Tuition International Festival promises to provide an immersive experience for film enthusiasts and artists, which will include a lineup of the best artworks selected by prominent industry professionals and filmmakers, workshops and collaborative and open panel discussions. Join us on this exciting journey to examine and experience the magic of cinema with fellow film lovers and filmmakers and immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Pakistan.

All of the selected films at TFTIF will receive a certificate of participation and the winners of each Award category will receive a trophy along with certificates. Additionally, there will be exciting prizes for exceptional works as provided by our event sponsors.

We have prearranged a number of categories for The Film Tuition International Festival. The categories are:

Narrative Features, Documentary Features, Animated Features, Narrative Shorts, Documentary Shorts, Animated Shorts, Experimental Films, Poetry Films, Music Videos, Screenplay for Feature Narratives, Screenplay for Short Narratives, and Shorties (Micro Films).


GENERAL ELIGIBILITY

Unless a special waiver is granted by TFTIF; Films must have been produced 3 years prior to submission date for the festival, not earlier than that. And, preference is given to films which are yet to be screened globally or in Pakistan.

ELIGIBILITY BY CATEGORY

Narrative Features: The film must be a work of fiction that equals OR exceeds 40 minutes in length. The maximum runtime is 180 minutes. The screenplay of feature
must be submitted in the respectable category; “Screenplay for Feature Narrative”
separately, to compete for the “Best Screenplay for Feature Film” Award.

Documentary Features: The film must be a work of non-fiction that equals OR exceeds
40 minutes in length. The maximum runtime is 180 minutes.

Animated Features: The film must be a work narrating a story through animated characters and settings that equals OR exceeds 40 minutes in length. The maximum
runtime is 180 minutes. The screenplay of feature must be submitted in the respectable category; “Screenplay for Feature Narrative” separately, to compete for
the “Best Screenplay for Feature Film” Award.

Narrative Shorts: The film must be a work of fiction that does not exceed a runtime of 40 minutes. The screenplay of the short feature must be submitted in the respectable category; “Screenplay for Short Narrative” separately, to compete for the “Best
Screenplay for Short Film” Award.

Documentary Shorts: The film must be a work of non-fiction that does exceed a runtime of 40 minutes.

Animated Shorts: The film must be a work narrating a story through animated characters and settings that does not exceed a runtime of 40 minutes. The screenplay
of the short feature must be submitted in the respectable category; “Screenplay for Short Narrative” separately, to compete for the “Best Screenplay for Short Film” Award.

Experimental Film: The film must break and challenge the conventional rules of cinema by exploring innovative forms of audio-visual expressions. There is no runtime
limit for this category.

Poetry Film: The film must combine poetry and visual imagery to create an artistic and unique audio-visual experience. There is no runtime limit for this category

Shorties: The film must not exceed runtime of 2 minutes, if it does, it must be submitted in the Short Narrative category.

Music Video: An original music video with copyrighted music from the original artist. The maximum duration allowed for the music video is 15 minutes.

Screenplay for Feature Narrative: An original screenplay written for the Narrative vayaFeature submitted or not submitted. The screenplay for a work which hasn’t been produced yet or is in the production phase can also be submitted and compete in this category. (Maximum pages: 180)

Screenplay for Short Narrative: An original screenplay specifically written for a narrative short film submitted or not submitted. The screenplay for a work which hasn’t been produced yet or is in the production phase can also be submitted and compete in this category. (Maximum 45 Pages).


SELECTION COMMITTEE
TFTIF will attentively select professionals and experts for the selection committee to review submitted works. The committee will decide on the official selection to enter the categories in the competition.

TFTIF will attentively and solely appoint a jury including members on the international film community to decide on the winners from each category.

The Selection Committee will select nominees for each category at its own discretion.

DEADLINES
All entries must be submitted on or before the 5th of December, 2023. Any submission received after the Extended Deadline will not be catered.

SUBMISSION OF WORKS IN PROGRESS
It is NOT acceptable to submit a copy of a film, music video, or screenplay in progress. TFTIF only accepts complete and final versions of films.

STORAGE OF SUBMISSIONS
TFTIF reserves the right to keep all submissions as well as all associated materials.

TFTIF reserves the right to transfer submissions to a master hard drive/digital library
(TFTIF Submissions Library).

TFTIF will not theatrically screen any films for commercial purposes without the written
consent of the appropriate rights holder/s.

ONLY the selected entries will receive an official notification by email.

ADDITIONAL TERMS
For avoidance of doubt, once a film is selected, the submitter will not be able to
withdraw the entry.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND UNDERTAKING
Submission and participation in TFTIF imply acceptance of the following Regulations:
The submitter hereby represents and warrants that he/she holds all rights in and to the film and Material and that he/she has the authority and capacity to submit the film and Material for TFTIF.

The submitter acknowledges that TFTIF shall not be held liable or responsible in any manner whatsoever for any loss or damage of whatever type or nature incurred as a result of the submission, acceptance and/or screening of the film and/or Material. Furthermore, the submitter undertakes to indemnify and keep TFTIF indemnified against all liabilities, claims, demands, actions, costs, damages or loss arising out of the submission, acceptance and/or screening of the film and/or Material.

The submitter also understands and acknowledges that the TFTIF Submission Information (Form) and the present Regulations form a consolidated and unified document and that therefore the MOPIFF Submission Form shall be considered as incorporated herein by reference.


CENSORSHIP
No editorial cuts or changes to any film will be made at any time by TFTIF for any reason or under any circumstances. However, in case of explicit scenes or any other obligations, the submitter will be informed if there’s any change or screen blurring required to be able to screen their works at our festival in Pakistan.


ANTI-PIRACY PRECAUTIONS
TFTIF undertakes to take all possible anti-piracy precautions. All prints and associated copyrighted materials will be securely stored while on TFTIF premises. Access is limited to TFTIF’s nominated staff only and all movement of prints will be strictly monitored. No duplication or loaning is permitted and no prints will ever leave the custody and care of TFTIF or its authorized agents during TFTIF.


FESTIVAL MANAGEMENT’S DISCRETION
TFTIF will decide in its discretion on all issues and matters not foreseen by these Regulations. TFTIF further retains the right to permit exceptions to the application of these Regulations at any time in its discretion.


PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL
All TFTIF nominated films and award winners undertake to include, in a clear and visible manner, on the Home Video release of their film (i.e. DVD. Blu Ray, online availability…) and on any and all promotional material (including but not limited to posters, banners, EPK’s, websites…) a specific logo to be provided by TFTIF.












  Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
