The Malta Cine Circle National Film Competition is one of the longest local running film festivals in Malta.

This event goes back to the mid-50's. Hundreds of local productions have been entered in this competition and several have also been successful in competitions overseas. These films, ranging from fiction, travelogues, documentaries, animations, and others have provided a unique visual record of the Maltese way of life over these years.

The Competition is open to all residents of the Maltese islands and any number of entries may be submitted.

THESE AWARDS MAY BE CHANGED WITHOUT NOTICE

1. The Competition is open to all residents of the Maltese islands and any number of entries may be submitted.

2. Entries may be on any subject and are not to exceed 20 minutes duration.

3. Limited inserts from commercial productions are allowed, if, in the opinion of the judges, these are directly relevant to the development of the script.

4. Entries must not have indications of previous awards.

5. Copyright clearance is the responsibility of the Entrant

6. Award winning productions from past National Film competitions organised by the MCC cannot be re- submitted.

7. The MCC will appoint a panel of judges whose decision as to the distribution of awards is final.

8. Correspondence with the judges is not allowed.

9. Media files will be handled with extreme care, however, the MCC will not accept responsibility for any loss or damage.

10. The committee reserves the right to call on any entry for showing during the awards presentation, and other club events, as well as to make copies for its archives.

11. Equipment for the showing of entries will be supplied by the MCC.

12. Each media file must contain only one entry, and no other additional material.

13. For the interpretation of these rules, the word ‘entrant’ means the person signing the entry form. Irrespective of the number of producers,
only one signature must appear on the entry form.

14. The decision of the committee as to the interpretation of the rules is final.

15. Submission Deadline: 20th June 2022


Submission Fee:
The Regular Deadline submission fee of Eur15.00 is applicable for each entry.
The submission fee is non-refundable.
