The Toronto Student Film Festival is run by youth for youth. Since its inception in 2006, the festival has received submissions from across the globe. The festival strives to promote and showcase work by young filmmakers, whether shot on a cell phone or an HD camera.

Submission Guidelines

TSFF Contest Rules: Submission for the 2015 TSFF

To be eligible for inclusion, the applicant must be between 12 and 21 years old as of December 31st, 2015.
Current deadline for submissions is February 1st, 2015.
The use of original music or royalty-free music is mandatory for TSFF submissions. Please ensure that you send copies of all necessary releases.
The use of images or clips should not infringe fair use guidelines http://www.learnnc.org/lp/pages/4455.
Applicants shall indemnify and hold harmless Toronto Student Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
TSFF will only select films for the festival showcase that are 6 minutes or less.
Submission tape and DVDs will not be returned and applicant permits TSFF to retain files, DVDs and promotional materials as part of its Festival library.
Submissions accepted for exhibition may be screened one or multiple times at various TSFF (whether online, in-theatre or in other forms) prior to, during and after the Festival.
Applicant hereby grants TSFF the non-exclusive rights to use all or part(s) of the film for promotional purposes; to use stills, biographical material, names and likeness from the film for promotional purposes and in Festival program and merchandise, to provide copies of the film for journalists to review, to show the film at press screenings, to include in festival compilations and to exhibit the film during the Festival and at any time before and after the Festival.
Festival programmers and judges shall determine selections and award winners at their sole discretion.
All non-English language films must have English Subtitles.
Participants must between the ages of 12 to 21 as of December 31st, 2015.
Films must be 6 minutes or less in length.
No entry fee is required.
