Uniport Short Film Festival (USFF) in association with the Nollywood International Centre of Excellence This exciting film festival aims to showcase the talent and creativity of emerging filmmakers while pushing the boundaries of storytelling.

As a platform for aspiring filmmakers, USFF provides an opportunity for them to shine and gain exposure. The festival is committed to nurturing the next generation of cinematic visionaries, fostering creativity, and supporting their journey in the industry.

Featuring a diverse lineup of films, USFF will captivate audiences with compelling narratives, innovative storytelling techniques, and a wide range of genres. The selected short films will offer immersive and thought-provoking experiences, showcasing the unique perspectives of emerging talents.

In addition to film screenings, USFF will host engaging panel discussions and workshops. Led by industry experts, these sessions will provide valuable insights, enhance skills, and encourage collaboration among filmmakers. The festival aims to create a supportive environment for learning, networking, and inspiration.

USFF proudly embraces inclusivity and diversity, seeking out and promoting films from underrepresented voices. The festival aims to amplify diverse perspectives and stories that deserve to be heard, fostering a vibrant and inclusive film community.

Film enthusiasts, industry professionals, and supporters of emerging talent are encouraged to proceed with registration early for this exciting inaugural event.

1. Eligibility:
Submissions are open to currently enrolled students in accredited educational institutions worldwide.
Filmmakers must provide proof of student status (e.g., a copy of a valid student ID or a letter from the educational institution).

2. Submission Guidelines:
- Accepted film Catgories/genres: Documentary, Sci-fi, Musical, Skits, Drama, Animation, Experimental,&Monologues
- Films should be submitted in the following formats: MP4, MOV, or AVI.
- Maximum film duration: 15 minutes; minimum film duration: 1 minute.
- Submissions must be made through the Festhome platform.
- Submission deadline: 24th October 2023
- Submission fee: Free

3. Student Verification:
- To verify student status, filmmakers must upload a scanned copy of their valid student ID or a letter from their educational institution.

4. Rights and Permissions
- Filmmakers must hold all necessary rights and permissions for their submitted films.

5. Multiple Submissions:
- Filmmakers can submit multiple films, but each film requires a separate submission category.

6. Film Premieres:
- Film makers should indicate if the film will be premiering at the festival

7. Language and Subtitles
- Films in languages other than English must include English subtitles.

8. Selection Process:
- Films will be reviewed by a jury of industry professionals.
- Selection criteria include originality, storytelling, technical quality, and artistic merit.
- Filmmakers will be notified of the selection status by November 5th.

9. Screening Rights:
- By submitting a film, filmmakers grant the festival the right to screen the film during the festival dates and use excerpts for promotional purposes.

10. Awards and Prizes:

11. Publicity and Promotion:
The festival reserves the right to promote selected films and filmmakers through its website, social media, and other media channels.
Filmmakers are encouraged to actively promote the festival to their networks.

12. Liability:
The festival is not responsible for any lost or damaged film submissions.
Filmmakers are responsible for resolving any copyright infringement issues related to their films.

13. Disqualification:
- Films may be disqualified for reasons including rule violations or incomplete submissions.
- Disqualification issues will be addressed by the festival organisers.

14. Dispute Resolution:
- Any disputes arising from these terms and conditions will be subject to mediation in [Port-harcourt, Rivers state, Nigeria.
- These terms are governed by the laws of Nigeria.

15. Changes to Terms:
- The festival organisers reserve the right to make changes to these terms and conditions, with notice provided to submitters.
