Urganda Festival invites Mexican and international producers and filmmakers to submit their short and feature films to the 3rd edition of the Festival, which will also feature live music and presentations, taking place from July 5th to 6th, 2025.

This edition will feature a competition section, where films will be in competition. It will also feature an exhibition section, focused on promoting and showcasing both international and national projects that are less well-known.

The selected projects will compete for awards in the following categories:

Best Short Film
Jury Award
Audience Award

*THESE AWARDS WILL BE FINANCIALLY REMUNERATED, THE FESTIVAL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SET THE AMOUNT AND TO MODIFY AWARD CATEGORIES

The call for entries opens from April 26th to June 10th, 2025, with no registration fee for short and feature films.

On June 20th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., the selected short and feature films will be revealed on our social media.

COMPETITION CATEGORY:

1.- All Spanish-language short and feature films that are selected do not require subtitles.

2.- International short and feature films participating in any category must include Spanish subtitles, without exception.

3.- Selected short films must have a maximum duration of 40 minutes, including credits. Failure to comply with these rules will result in disqualification.

4.- Filmmakers must submit their short or feature films via the FestHome platform or to the project's official email address.

5.- Any short or feature film found to be publicly available online will be disqualified.

6.- The person responsible for submitting the film will be held accountable for all copyright issues related to the short or feature film.

7.- Short and feature films completed between 2022 and 2025 are eligible to participate.

8.- Short and feature films of any genre or subject matter are welcome.

9.- The call for entries closes on June 10, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (Central Mexico Time).

EXHIBITION CATEGORY:

1. Spanish Subtitles: If the short film is made in a native language, it must be accompanied by Spanish subtitles.

2. Registration Platform: The project must be registered through the FestHome platform or by sending a link to our email via Google Drive.

3. Genre and Theme: Short films of any genre or theme, are accepted into the official selection of exhibition short films.

4. Duration: The short film cannot exceed 50 minutes in length; otherwise, it will be rejected.

(All selected short and feature films must include the official festival laurel in all promotional materials (poster, social media, press kits, etc.). Its inclusion at the beginning of the screener is mandatory for screenings within the festival; optional outside of it, but strongly recommended for public showcases or future exhibitions.)
