The Ames International Children's Film Festival is back, an event that wants to make children dream, think, smile, and awaken emotions, consciences, and illusions. It is for this reason that in this fifth edition ecology will be the common thread of the broad agenda of proposals that will take place from November 14 to 17.
There will be four days in which more than 50 short films and audiovisual works from different parts of the world will be screened, so that children from Ames, the region, and all of Galicia enjoy animation, fantasy, adventures, superheroes... bringing out the curiosity for the world of cinema and all that lies behind it, as well as raising awareness of environmental protection.
Let the rattles ring and the spinning tops spin, the VII International Children's Film Festival of Ames begins.

Prizes awarded by a professional jury and endowed with 500€ each:
-Jury Award for Best Short Film for audiences from 2 to 7 years old (Axóuxeres Category)
-Jury Award for Best Short Film for audiences over 7 years old (Buxainas Category)
Prizes awarded by the audience and endowed with 200€ each
-Audience Award for Best Short Film for children from 2 to 7 years old (Axóuxeres Category)
-Audience Award for Best Short Film for ages 7 and over (Buxainas Category)
Decisions made by juries and others with awarded decision-making authority cannot be appealed.

1. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
1.1 Everybody can take part without any kind of restriction.
1.2 The submitted works must be oriented or suitable for pre-school, infant,
or juvenile audiences.
1.3 In selected films, we will consider aesthetic and educational value as well as technical, thematic, and origin diversity to promote the overall programming.
1.4 Films that respect equality, diversity, and nondiscrimination are eligible.
1.5 There is no limit on the number of films per competitor.
1.6 Short films with a maximum duration of 25 minutes are eligible.
1.7 Films produced in 2022 or later are eligible.
2 Competitive section, Axóuxeres Session and Buxainas Session.
2.1 Axóuxeres: Short films with a maximum duration of 10 minutes oriented to an audience between 2 and 7 years old.
2.2 Buxainas: Short films with a maximum duration of 25 minutes oriented to an audience over 7 years old.
2.3 There will be awards given out by the jury and the audience for all films in these sessions.
3. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
3.1 Film entries in any language different from Spanish or Galician must be subtitled in any of these two languages, or at least competitors must send to the Festival Cinema Miúdo organization a dialogue list in english, Spanish or Galician.
4 deadline
4.1 The deadline for submitting short films is August 26th, 2024 at 23:59 CET.
5 SCREENING
5.1 Short films selected will be screened during the Cinema Miudos’s exhibition named Festival Internacional de Cinema Infantil de Ames in Ames (Galicia, Spain).
5.2 The organization reserves the possibility to screen the films selected for the Festival Internacional de Cinema Infantil de Ames Competition in other festivals and exhibitions in collaboration with the Cinema Miúdo organization. In that case, it will be informed that those short films have been selected for the Festival Internacional de Cinema Infantil de Ames.

8 SECURE online STREAMING
8.1 The participation of the selected works in the online festival is optional, recommended, but not mandatory, and will take place only if the health situation requires it.
8.2 If the festival takes place online, geo-restrictions are allowed in the diffusion of the films on our platform.
9 ANNOUNCEMENTS
9.1 In the event of dates or location changes, these will be published on the festival's website.
9.2 The official selection will be announced by email to all competitors and released on the Cinema Miúdo official website.
10 ADHERENCE TO THESE RULES
10.1 Submission to the Festival implies adherence to the present competition rules and regulations.
10.2 The jury, the festival’s organization, and/or A.C. Abella Producións have the power to deal with all unforeseen cases in the present competition rules and regulations.
10.3 In case of dispute, only the Galician version of the present competition rules and regulations will count, and not any derived translation.
