VISIONI FUORI RACCORDO is the Rome Documentary Film Festival dedicated to creative documentaries and non-fictional films. Started 9 years ago focusing on Cinema and Metropolis we have since expanded the focus to explore the meaning of borders, identities, memory and migrations. The festival intends to explore the edges of things; where change occurs. VISIONI FUORI RACCORDO focuses on the point of change.

The Festival is an important rendez-vous to promote and present documentaries in Rome. VISIONI FUORI RACCORDO is a great place for directors, critics and a large audience to meet and debate. Besides the Italian Competition, VISIONI FUORI RACCORDO presents Retrospectives, Perspectives, Homages and Special Screenings such as F. Wiseman In Jackson Heights in 2015 edition. The event involves the public and professionals to inspire meetings, debates and an open dialogue on nonfictional documentary narration and contemporary issues.

The Festival will take place in Rome in November, and there will be many related events, meetings and additional screenings nationally and internationally. In 2016 we will also present the Section HOMELANDS, committed to International Documentaries dealing with the search of identity and belongings through innovative documentary filmmaking.

Since its first edition, VFR is supported by Lazio Region, Rome Municipality and works in partnership with AAMOD Fondazione Archivio Audiovisivo del Movimento Operaio e Democratico, with the sponsorship of the production company Road Television.

The selection of the audiovisual works that will take part in the competition is a cautious and unquestionable judgment of the Festival's Direction, which will give the authors a ready read. Best Opera will be awarded. Additional prizes and prizes may be awarded.

Prizes and mentions will be assigned to an unquestionable judgment of a Jury composed of scholars and professionals in the audiovisual sector.

The Visions Outside Fitting - Rome Documentary Fest is organized and produced by the LABnovecento Association.

PURPOSES

Visioni Fuori Raccordo is the Rome festival devoted to documentary in its multiplicity of languages. He focuses his research around the cinema-metropolis binomial, working on the meanings of boundaries, identity, dwelling, memory, migrations. The word that best represents his research is "peripheries": a metaphor for defining research fields, expressive forms, stylistic elaborations, production modes. Suburbs as a laboratory of the future, in reality and in the cinema that represents them.

COMPETITION

1) Terms of Participation
They can participate in the selection for the Italian works (or Italian directors and / or Italian production houses) with a documentary character of more than 40 years, made on any medium and produced from the year 2016.
The works must be in Italian or in Italian (also subtitled).
Works that have already been selected for the selection of previous editions of the Festival will not be considered.

2) Sections
The 2017 edition of the Festival features a single competitive section devoted to Italian documentaries lasting over 40 '.
Other out-of-competition sections can be organized to include international or Italian works that are not part of the contest's participation.

3) Awards and Jury
The selection of the audiovisual works that will take part in the competition is a cautious and unquestionable judgment of the Festival's Direction, which will give the authors a ready read. Best Opera will be awarded. Additional prizes and prizes may be awarded.

4) Participation Mode
To participate in the selection, you need to link to the festival site (www.fuoriraccordo.it), access the registration area and fill out the online form in every part of it. In all its parts. At the completion of the compilation, the participant will receive the filled-in registration form at the e-mail address, which will have to sign and send in .pdf format to the email address iscritto@fuoriraccordo.it indicating in the subject the title of the film.
Compilation of the online form involves inserting a link to the movie, along with any password. You must either provide or enable the download of the file to facilitate the selection process and allow the Festival to keep the recorded movies in its archive.
The link and password will remain active until the end of the 2017 edition of the festival.

Entry to the competition is FREE.

In case of selection, the participant undertakes to send a copy of the film on a suitable projection medium (HD File, Blu-Ray, or other support to be agreed) by the date indicated by the organizers of the Festival. Materials will not be returned.

5) Use of works
The directors, authors and owners of the rights of the works sent authorize the direction of their projection within the Festival and, after contact with the author, dissemination initiatives related to it (projections, places and dates other than those Of the festival, of some representative works, always within the project Visioni Fuori Raccordo). Finally, they authorize the director of the festival to keep in his own copy archive of the work and to use it for educational, research and promotion purposes, even in locations and contexts other than the festival, with the exception of any commercial use and protection of interests Authors and producers. Participation in the selection first, and at the festival in case of a subsequent selection, entails the full acceptance of this regulation.
