WomenTime! II Festival de cine Femenino de Canarias, is a film festival online (through FIlmin) and in person (Tenerife and Madrid), which aims to visualise women as filmmakers.

This project vindicates the current situation of gender inequality in our society by highlighting women as filmmakers. WomenTime! is a festival of short films, under 15 minutes long. Directed, produced or scripted by women. Short films with gender or feminist themes are accepted, but will not be entered into the competition. Accepted in all languages, but with Spanish subtitles for the screening (English subtitles are accepted). The selected short films will be screened for one month on the Filmin platform (during the duration of the festival).

Goal of the festival:
To promote the work of women filmmakers.

Who can participate:
To participate in WomenTime! productions must be directed or scripted by a woman. If the subject matter is particularly committed to feminism or gender equality but the requirement of female director, female producer or female screenwriter is not met, the works entered may be programmed, but will not enter the competition, although they may be eligible for the audience award.

WomenTime! is an international festival and short films of any nationality can participate. THE FILMS MUST ALWAYS BE SUBTITLED IN SPANISH.

The works will be fiction, documentary or animation short films.
The duration of the short films must be less than 15 minutes.
Short films do not need to be unpublished and can be produced since 2020.

Where the festival takes place:
WomenTime! Festival de Cine Femenino de Canarias, is an online film festival (Filmim), and face-to-face; Madrid Sala Equis, Madrid and Fundación Cajacanarias, Tenerife. Both events will be held in the first week of December, with estimated dates: 1,2 and 3 of the same month. The selected short films will be available on the FILMIN platform during the month of December, always within the section dedicated for WomenTime!

Specifications:
Short films must be submitted through Movibeta.com or Festhome.com. They must have a screening copy available on the platform and, if desired, a playback copy. The minimum resolution of the works must be 1920x1080 H264 in .mp4 or .mov. All short films in foreign languages must be subtitled in Spanish in order to be screened. It is possible to participate in the pre-screening of the short film with English subtitles, but a screening copy with Spanish subtitles will be required before the last week of November.

Rights:
WomenTime! reserves the right to screen the selected short films for at least one year from the day of their premiere at the festival. Where? in non-profit film festivals, never in broadcast media and always within the framework of WomenTime! Festival de Cine Femenino de Canarias, which will hold, over time, talks and workshops about women as filmmakers in different locations. WomenTime! II Festival de Cine Femenino de Canarias, in no case may transfer the broadcasting rights to third parties. The short films will be part of the festival's internal archive and may be used to generate promotional material for the festival.
