Zaragoza Fear Fest, festival de cine fantástico y de terror, nace con la intención de convertirse en un evento socio cultural comprometido con la difusión y promoción del trabajo realizado por realizadores y otros profesionales contemporáneos que quieren abrirse camino en el género fantástico, de terror y ciencia ficción.

Con dicha muestra se pretende además integrar a la ciudad en el circuito, cada vez más amplio y profesionalizado, de festivales de cine dedicados a este género, y establecer relaciones de cooperación con ellos.

La asociación Zaragoza Fear se crea en 2018 por un heterogéneo grupo de personas, aficionadas al cine y profesionales de diferentes campos relacionados con el mismo, interesados en crear esta propuesta cultural de la que en la actualidad carece nuestra ciudad.

El festival nace con el aval de otras muestras de similares características e importante trayectoria, como son la Semana de Cine Fantástico y de Terror de San Sebastián y el Nocturna Madrid Film Festival.

Zaragoza Fear Fest Short Films Contest


1. BASIC REQUIREMENTS


1.1 Only one work will be accepted for competition per author, with a maximum duration of 20 minutes (credits included).

1.2 Works that do not adapt to the fantasy and horror genre will be automatically discarded.

1.3 The production date of all short films may not be earlier than January 1, 2018.

1.4 Contestants shall be solely responsible for the infringement of their short film not in violation of any intellectual or industrial property rights, the right of exploitation, the right to honor, privacy and self-image, or any other rights of third parties or the legislation in force. The organization of the Zaragoza Fear Fest declines any legal responsibility in relation to the short films presented at the Festival and its content.

1.5 Any short film presented in previous editions shall be disqualified.


2. REGISTRATION AND SELECTION


2.1 Registration will be made through the platform associated with the Festival: FESTHOME.

2.2 The start date of registrations will be March 1, 2020.

2.3 Participating short films must be received no later than August 31, 2020. Works received after this date will be discarded.

2.4 All short films that are registered in the Festival must contain subtitles in Spanish.

2.5 The Festival will not be responsible for any expenses generated by the sending of the short films.

2.6 An internal commission of the Festival shall decide, among the works submitted that meet the minimum characteristics, which short films will become part of the Official Section, Fear in short.


3. SELECTED SHORT FILMS


3.1 Each of the authors (or contact person) of the selected short films shall be notified of the selection.

3.2 The short films selected for competition will be released through the Festival's own means. Once announced, interested parties will be able to make their selection public. The Festival has priority to promote the short films that will make up the Official Section.

3.3 The selected short films may not leave the Festival under any circumstances.

3.4 Minimum projection requirements: subtitles and technical specifications. - Selected short films must be sent in H264 format. - subtitle: Selected short films other than Castellana should provide subtitles in Castellano in non-embedded SRT format.


4. JURY AND awards


4.1 Official Section Bases 1 fantasy and horror short film contest

4.1.1 The Jury will be composed of people related to the world of film and culture.

4.1.2 The short films in competition of the Official Section will be screened between Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November 2020.

4.1.3 The short films in competition of the Official Section will be eligible for the following prizes: 1st AWARD OF THE JURY 200 € AWARD for Best Short Film and a statuette, "El hotel eléctrico", designed by the sculptor Oscar Palacio.

4.1.4 In case of not being able to attent,the winners must send a video

4.1.5 prizes may not be declared ex aequo or deserts.

4.1.6 The jury reserves the right to grant special mentions to the participants.

5.1 Participation in the competition implies full acceptance of the terms and conditions. Otherwise the short film will be disqualified.

5.2 The organizers of the Festival shall, at their discretion, resolve any eventuality.

5.3 The organization reserves the right to modify the bases with prior notice.

5.4 All short films received will be incorporated into the Festival's video library. The organization of the Festival reserves the right to use all or part of the material presented in order to promote the Festival, always not for profit.
