From November 7, Screenplay Week returns, an event that brings together screenwriters from Colombia to enhance their creations, bring them closer to the film industry and strengthen their management skills.


At Fundación Algo en Común we want to invite you to participate in the III Salón de las Ideas: a meeting aimed at young screenwriters between 18 and 28 years old in Colombia who have a short film script and are interested in finding a production company and human talent that connects to the project to make it a reality.

The Desafío Buñuel 2025 is a film rally held in Teruel, Spain, from August 27 to 30. Filmmaking teams must submit fiction scripts inspired by Luis Buñuel’s film Belle de Jour. Short films should last between 5 and 10 minutes and be shot during the event, using outdoor locations and local extras.

The call is open to filmmakers of any nationality. To participate, scripts, the director’s filmography, and the list of team members must be submitted by May 18. Selected projects will be announced on June 10.

The goal is to promote creativity and local collaboration in a short time frame, producing original short films in just 48 hours. The main language is Spanish, and films are expected to follow Buñuel’s thematic and aesthetic inspiration.

ABYCINE LANZA – RTVE Talent Award for Best Short Film Project

The RTVE ABYCINE Talent Award for Best Short Film Project is an initiative by RTVE and the Abycine Foundation to support the production of fiction short films. The prize is €15,000 (VAT included), dedicated to producing the winning film, supervised by RTVE.

Eligible participants are Spanish registered production companies with fiction projects up to 20 minutes long. Projects related to Castilla-La Mancha are especially valued. Each company may submit up to two projects, with a €12 entry fee per project.

The submission deadline is July 30, 2025. Projects must be sent as a single PDF including script, synopsis, director’s statement, shooting plan, budget, financing plan, and additional documents.

Up to 5 projects will be selected to pitch at Abycine Lanza (October 21-24, 2025). The short film will premiere at the 2026 Abycine Festival and be broadcast on RTVE Play. RTVE holds exclusive rights for one year and perpetual broadcast rights.

The 22nd Co-Production Meeting of the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG 41) targets Ibero-American feature film projects in development (fiction, documentary, or animation) that have not yet been shot and have a completed script. Projects must have a minimum duration of 70 minutes and at least 20% of funding secured.

The call is open until October 24, 2025, and selected projects will participate from April 17 to 25, 2026, in Guadalajara, within the framework of FICG. Selected projects will receive one-on-one sessions with national and international professionals, free industry accreditation for two representatives, accommodation for up to four nights, and access to private pitch sessions to obtain support and financing.

Registration is done electronically via the FICG official platform. Travel and food expenses are the responsibility of the project, and attendance confirmation is mandatory to retain selection. This meeting is an opportunity to network, access financing, and present projects to international audiovisual industry representatives.

The Independent Film Festival and Market of Albacete (ABYCINE) will hold its 27th edition from October 21 to 30, 2025. This event promotes the distribution of independent feature films and short films lacking regular commercial distribution. Abycine supports young cinema and new trends in Spanish “indie” film, while fostering audiovisual education. The call is open for Spanish feature films in the Abycine Indie section, national short films in Abycine Shorts, and regional works in Hecho en Castilla-La Mancha and Creación Audiovisual AB. The festival offers cash prizes totaling €11,400, including a special €6,000 acquisition prize in the Indie section. Registration is open until July 10, 2025.
