Histeria Lab is a workshop dedicated to the development of film projects in the genres of horror, fantasy, and science fiction. It is part of the Histeria International Fantastic Film Festival, held in San José, Costa Rica. Its goal is to provide filmmakers with tools and guidance to enhance their projects and facilitate their entry into the market. During the workshop, participants receive training and personalized advice from national and international professionals in areas such as screenwriting, direction, production, and pitching. Activities include masterclasses, individual sessions, and the preparation of a pitch, which is presented at the end of the event.

The Center for Cinema and Creation (CCC) in Chile and Cineka, The Place Where Stories Happen, in Mexico, through Grupo SURA, aims to contribute to the development and consolidation of the work undertaken by civil society groups and collectives in building collaborative spaces through audiovisual exhibition. They invite individuals representing collectives, groups, and independent organizations to participate in the First Collaborative Cinema Meeting, a call for projects focused on independent audiovisual exhibition to be developed and practiced in the Latin America and Caribbean region, seeking to build community around cinema.

Apoyar a jóvenes talentos audiovisuales en el desarrollo de proyectos de su primer proyectos de largometrajes, con el fin de que puedan fortalecer sus películas desde la fase inicial y facilitarles un mayor acceso a financiamientos y mercados nacionales e internacionales.


CortosLAB
To support young audiovisual talents in the development of short film projects in genres other than drama, in order to strengthen their films from the initial phase—artistically, in production, and in marketing—and to promote the production of a diversity of cinematic genres.

To support young audiovisual talents in the completion of short films, including editing processes and post-production of their works.

It is aimed at screenwriters seeking to develop an authorial vision and define a point of view to begin the development stage of a fiction or animation film project.

During the BioBioCine Meetings, the methodology focuses on addressing the specific needs of each project. This is achieved through guidance from a nationally renowned mentor, who will work in both group sessions and "one-on-one" meetings.

Projects are selected based on a treatment of 10 to 12 pages. Only the selected projects will be required to submit a first draft of the script. Up to 8 projects will be selected in total.

This program is aimed at fiction feature film projects in the development stage. Projects selected will include a team of a director and a producer who are seeking positioning and are ready to begin the journey toward realizing their film.

During the BioBioCine Meetings, the methodology is tailored to each project’s needs and guided by internationally recognized mentors. Support includes group sessions, one-on-one meetings, and a 3-minute pitch in front of industry guests. Up to 8 projects will be selected in total.
